There's no excuse for Premiere to edit anything out of an original show. There should be plenty of time to play the whole show in it's entirely as there are fewer commercials that the original show, and an optional extra. Time for editing to stop. I was under the impression that commercial loads are typically heavier these days and that the OPTIONAL (note the name) extra was designed for those stations that were lighter on commercials (or were otherwise able to make up the difference $$$-wise) than other stations. Remember, not all stations carry the exrtas and fill that time with commercials in order to carry the show.

Obviously there isn't enough time to fit everything in so that's why the edits are being made. It's doubtful that sound mixers and trimming songs just to p!ss everyone off.

'Shine a little love' had its 2nd verse. Had to be Premiere. A debut song wouldn't be edited its 1st week in the 40.

Sometimes I wish they'd leave a clearasil commercial in so I can really revisit my teen years.
But not really.

Yep, it was Premiere, my original copy clocks in at 3:49, exactly 1 minute chopped off at 2:49 from iHeartRADIO's Classic American Top 40 Channel! So now my question would be, why not leave songs alone for their new channel, since they have no commercials on there as of yet?

I do miss some of those ABC/Watermark network spots from 1982 on. The Oxy-10 takeoff on "Space Invaders" where you "OXYCUTE those face invaders" is one that immediately comes to mind. Another is the "Frogger" home video game from Colecovision. Announcer says "It's fun!" Frog says "It's NOT fun!"

Because they run the same versions on iHeart that are made available to stations.
