The extra "Take It to the Limit" by the Eagles in the 3/4/78 show was seriously cut down to verse, chorus, fade. In light of that, I wonder why they bothered including it in the first place. Casey had told the accompanying story (about the band hanging out with fans before the shows) before.
ABBA's "The Name of the Game" was also cut right in half (they barely got to the second chorus.) On several other AT40s they played a longer version which isn't the one usually featured on the group's compilations sold or played today. Maybe it was the original 45?

On the 3-15-86 show, 'These dreams' had its 2nd verse edited out. Had to be a Premiere edit!

On the 4-10-82 show, 'We got the beat' was edited in the top 3 recap. Was that Premiere's work?

There has been a few other occasions that the songs that were played during last week's top 3 are edited. They are not Premier edits they were edited when show originally aired. I know one other show right off hand is 11/15/80. "He's So Shy" by The Pointer Sisters last week's number 3 the second verse is edited out but later in the show the full song is played.

For 'Tonight x3, the 2nd verse was edited out, AGAIN! on the 4-11-87 show.

In the top 3 recap of 4-21-84, 'Footloose' had its 2nd verse edited out.

I think a few end-of-segment logos were trimmed this week, but certainly not as many as last week.

I'm listening to this week's 1981 show and most of "Kiss On My List" was cut out during Last Week's Top 3 recap. I'm assuming this is a Premiere edit?

Between the recap and it's proper place in the countdown, I'm almost inclined to believe these were original edits based on the occasional 'popping' in heard.... Was this episode remastered by Shannon and the gang?

There's no excuse for Premiere to edit anything out of an original show. There should be plenty of time to play the whole show in it's entirely as there are fewer commercials that the original show, and an optional extra. Time for editing to stop.
