Does this count as editing?: On the 1971 AT40 Christmas Countdown only part 1 of Stan Freburg's "Christmas Dragnet" was played, though Casey mentioned in part 2 George becomes a believer.

On AT40: The 70's 11/2/1974: For "Nothing by Nothing" by Billy Preston: The piano instrumental bridge followed by the final verse/chorus was not heard - I guess it is an original Watermark edit and not a Premiere edit.

Listening to the non Christmas AT40 shows on WVLI Kankakee:
1) For AT40: The 70's 11/11/1972 the last line in the Delagates "Convention '72" record that goes "We now return you to your local stations" was not heard - I know it's a Watermark edit.
2) For AT40: The 80's 11/15/1980 "If You Should Sail" by Nielsen/Pearson had the second verse/chorus omitten - I guess it's a Premiere edit. (The second verse starts "You can change your name, change your address too..."), also: "Real Love" by the Doobie Brothers sounded shortened - original or Premiere edit?

For the AT20 2003 Christmas Countdown: If you hear Whitney Houston's "Do You Hear What I Hear" (#27), you'll know that Whitney always skips the real first verse with "Do you see what I see" with the night wind, little lamb, and star. It's not PREMIERE EDITING, it's the way Whitney sang it even on the 1987 Very Special Christmas Volume 1 album/CD!
Also on the AT20 2003 Christmas Countdown: Was it me or was a verse of Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmastime" looped?

On AT40: The 70's 12/1/1979 the second archive song of "Afternoon Delight" by Starland Vocal Band had the last verse and chorus omitted - I guess it's a Premiere edit.

On AT40: The 80's 12/13/1986 "At This Moment" by Billy Vera and the Beaters had for the last part of the song much applause and Billy's singing the last line prior to the last word "Again" ("If I could just hold you..." is sang twice with the audience cheering) is edited out - It wasn't the way I heard it when WLS AM 890 Chicago played this AT40 show back in December 1986!

I think there was a radio edit that cut At This Moment from 4:20 to 3:30--I know that I have that edit on CD. Although, like you, I don't recall too many stations playing that version back in 1986/7.

Nothing From Nothing is not a very long song to begin with. Why would they edit it?

I remember, when that song was on the countdown, after everyone cheered for the last time, Rick (or one of his staff) would yell, "Hey shut up, I'm trying to sing!"

Bumping this up for anyone who wants to list all the edited songs in this weekend's 12/18/1976 show (and any others as well).
