Has there ever been a countdown show that's ever aired where at least 1 week you liked every song on the countdown? In addition, you also liked all the extras, dedications, etc? This pertains to any countdown show, so it's not exclusive to just AT40.
Personally I have to say I don't think there's ever been one for me.

It is hard for me to find a show where I like 20 of the 40 songs.

I could easily find shows in which I liked over 30 of the 40 songs, but alas, not all 40, and certainly not all of the extras.

There are relatively few hit songs that I outright dislike (at least from the classic AT40 era), but even saying that, it would be hard for me to find an AT40 where I liked every single song played.
Of course, now I'll have something to look for when I listen to the old shows...

The closest I ever came to what I thought was a "perfect show" was, now looking back surprisingly, July 1, 1989. 38 of the 40 songs I absolutely loved at the time. The only two exceptions were "Rooms On Fire" by Stevie Nicks and "Good Thing" by Fine Young Cannibals. It had two songs debut inside the Top 30 and Milli Vanilli hitting number one for the first time, which to me was awesome (Yeah, I said it). Plus it was a very diverse Top 40 for the time with songs ranging from Neneh Cherry to Elvis Costello to Real Life to Donna Summer to Love and Rockets.
Looking back, I can't believe I liked some of the songs at the time ("Wind Beneath My Wings" stands out) but for the most part that show still stands out.

Yes, many times. It just so happens that, from 1983 to about 2002, that the "No. Just no." songs are often spread out and there are times when there are none on the chart (indeed, I can practically count the top 40 hits from the 90's that I can't stand on the fingers of my own two hands!)
This is especially prevalent through the 90's when there are many weeks where I love every single song in the top 40.

If there was one for me, it would probably be from 1970 to 72.

Funny, I would have said that "Rooms On Fire" and "Good Thing" would have been two of my favorites during that time--to each his/her own I guess. Not knocking you at all for liking Milli Vanilli--a good song is a good song, I don't care who sings it.

I can't say that there has ever been a show in which I loved every song on the show--even in the best of the best shows, there always seem to be one or two songs I don't care for. I would say that on my favorite shows, it's 37 or 38 of the 40 songs that I at least like, if not love. On my least favorite shows--probably during late '72/early '73, it would be down to less than 20 songs. In the 80's, some of the shows in Jan-March 1981 time frame, there are usually around 25 songs or so that I find I like, or at least don't want to skip past.

At least I know I'm not wired now. I wondered if I was the only one.

I've never been a fan of Stevie's voice (but I appreciate her music and her contribution to popular music to the nth degree), and I was just tired of FYC at that point. As for the cheesy pop songs, I chalk it up to being 16 and just liking that type of music at the time. I think over the years, the outright disdain for Milli Vanilli has waned to a cautionary tale for anyone getting in the record business. Whoever Milli Vanilli was, producer Frank Farian should be given a ton of credit for bringing Eurodance music to the states that still continues to be a fabric of American pop music.

I was tired of FYC about 3 times after I heard them.

Two part answer: No to not liking every song in a countdown. Of course, if I liked every song in a particular countdown, I would not necessarily liked every song's ranked position that's why there's such a thing called personal charts.

Doubt I have ever liked EVERY song, though I'd have to look. 78-82 has alot I like, so its possible. 1972 as well.
3-25-78 is one of my favorite shows, so maybe that one, I'd have to check.

I doubt I have liked every song in a Top 40.Just looking at the two charts this weekend for the 70s and 80s and I like 29 of the 80 songs. Some of the remaining songs I don't hate and can tolerate them, but I wouldn't say I like them.
