Undoubtedly edited due to the show being split for two-week airings for Premiere as opposed to it's original 8 hour all-at-once runtime. Correct. Michael you live right here in Watertown. How is it that we've never met? LOL I think we met briefly at one of the local job fairs pre-Pandemic. Between my table being busy and yours as well, I didn't get a chance to work around the floor again until Johnny or someone else from the stations relieved you.

Interesting how Casey noted that ABBA were the only group who had two female members hit the top 40 separately, both in 1983 (Annifred "Frida" Lyngstad, played here, and Agnetha Faltskog). That fact became obsolete not long after, when in early 1984 Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie joined Stevie Nicks in the top 40, each on their own. An interesting feat occurred in 1981 when Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were back to back on the charts. This marked the first time two members from an existing group were back to back on the chart with solo hits. This would happen again in 1984 when Stevie and Christine were back to back on the charts with solo hits. That in itself became another record.

Hope KOLA today or tomorrow at least reveals what the first regular AT40: The 80's show will be for the January 13-14, 2024 weekend. Either 1/17/1987 or 1/18/1986.

I don't think KOLA is known for going for the B show very often. There's a 4 week gap between the 12/20/86 and 1/17/87 shows. 8 months ago we had two different 1984 shows that were the same distance apart with an A/B offering, so it's not unprecedented.

Premiere did the same for the 70s in 2018-19, when the year end countdowns were bookended by December 1975 and January 1976 shows, thus playing many of the same songs just three weeks apart. (The year end shows then were this year's pairing reversed, with 1972 as the A and 1978 the B.) In 2007-08 the shows preceding and following the two-week year end countdown were both from 1971, and in 2019-20 the A's were both 1972. These were of course from the opposite ends of those years, so songs weren't repeated.

Since I'm playing all 8 hours of the '83 show this weekend, the first weekend of '24 will have another year end Top 100 show. Premiere didn't offer an A and B for the 80's this year, so I picked one. Yes it is 1984 - The Top 100 of 1984 leads off with "Lights Out" by Peter Wolf from J Geils band solo. Thank you - looking forward to it!!

The Top 100 of 1983 leads off with "Far From Over" by Frank Stallone. Whatever became of Frank Stallone nowadays? Was wondering that - Sylvester went on to many more projects (as we all know) - appears Frank's career wasn't as spectacular.
