Since I'm playing all 8 hours of the '83 show this weekend, the first weekend of '24 will have another year end Top 100 show. Premiere didn't offer an A and B for the 80's this year, so I picked one.

I will go ahead and predict 1/10/81 for the week of January 13 (possibly 1/18/86 as the 'B'?)

Interesting this time is Casey´s reference at the end of #51 to the continuation of the Top 50 the following week, because on the one hand there was a guest-hosted show on 1/7/84 and on the other hand the intro of the cue sheets also gives the indication of an eight-hour show.

Undoubtedly edited due to the show being split for two-week airings for Premiere as opposed to it's original 8 hour all-at-once runtime.

The Top 100 of 1983 leads off with "Far From Over" by Frank Stallone.
Whatever became of Frank Stallone nowadays?

Undoubtedly edited due to the show being split for two-week airings for Premiere as opposed to it's original 8 hour all-at-once runtime. Maybe Premiere did that for 1984-1987 as well; might have to look for that in future airings (or maybe iHeart has them currently on their channel). 1983 was the first year AT40 ran a non-stop top 100, which continued through 1991, and again in 1993 (1992 for some reason was split up into two weekends).

I'm pretty sure Premiere made the same edit across the 8 hour shows. But you'll be able to check the 1984 show next week on WTOJ when they play the Tot 100 of 1984 as their 'bonus' show!

I had a feeling that would be the show Ken chose to run. 🙂😊 It'd be the only other one with a medley.

The Premiere version I have of this show has Larry Morgan saying the second half will continue next week. Must be a recent change.

Undoubtedly edited due to the show being split for two-week airings for Premiere as opposed to it's original 8 hour all-at-once runtime. Premiere didn't edit Casey's intro at the beginning of the show, though, in which he stated that this countdown would be a single 8-hour marathon (as mentioned, this was the first time that was so), even though probably nobody except WTOJ is playing it all in one week. This was said as part of Casey's last-ever intro with the "Shuckatoom" music; Charlie Van Dyke guest hosted the following week, and then on 1/14/84 new opening music (the synthesizer fade-in) debuted.

Interesting how Casey noted that ABBA were the only group who had two female members hit the top 40 separately, both in 1983 (Annifred "Frida" Lyngstad, played here, and Agnetha Faltskog). That fact became obsolete not long after, when in early 1984 Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie joined Stevie Nicks in the top 40, each on their own.
