I think next week will be 9/11/76, with 9/10/77 as a backup prediction.

Will go with 9-6-75 for next week's programme! Jd just confirmed that next week's show will not be 1975...a relief for those leery of a repeat of this weekend's SXM show.

I thought it would've been a show from the second week in September, to coincide with the calendar--AT 40 had been doing that pretty faithfully. After all, we are having a 9-4 episode this weekend.

Until recently, WBBG (Youngstown, OH) has provided a pretty reliable Internet stream. This morning, however, the online filler at the top of hour two cut off most of "Indian Reservation".
Last time I listened to WBBG was two weeks ago when the beginning of the second hour was also cut off.

I counted; we get 1:20 of "I Likes To Do It". The record label lists the actual time of the song as 2:57. There are some other edits in Hour#1; most likely to accommodate playing the full-length Tom Clay record. Not that I'm complaining!

They like to edit the #40 song figuring that people will tune it late and not notice it. Which was the case with me today but what they don't realize is that there are like 20 other presentations of this show and I WILL catch them with their hand in the cookie jar!! From an editing standpoint, this is probably the worst show of 1971 they could play because there are no original extras. If there were, they could play those as optional extras and keep the countdown songs as is. It's 1 of only 2 shows in 71 with no extras.

Ah, this week's "AT40: The '70s" does appear to be edited down even more than usual, so that may explain why. Also, I think the time allotted to local and national sponsors gradually increased throughout the '70s so, unfortunately, we are missing even more of the original broadcast when Premiere airs an early '70s edition.

They audibly cut out about half of "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep", which I think also came in at well under two minutes in this show. This is one of the few, and maybe only, AT40s with commercials where it's only 45 minutes after the start of the show and they're already at #28. I'd expect more editing of songs in three hour AT40s from the later 70s or shows with several extras, but not so much in an early 70s show where they just play #40-#1.

I'll confess I was surprised by how big a deal the show made about having eight debut songs. This wasn't even the first time in AT40 history that there were 8 debut songs. On the 7/25/70 show (that used the 8/1/70 chart) there were 8 debut songs. That particular show was played last year - I don't recall there being any big mention of eight debut songs. Maybe that was because the show was so new that every week had something new happen.

AT40 had alot of guest hosts week after Labor Day weekend so see why dates are not aligning up! Avoids repeats!
