Not sure if hte extras for this week will be the same as in 2007 and 2008, but if they're different, here goes:
* "I Love the Nightlife (Disco Round)" -- Alicia Bridges * "You've Never Done It Like That" -- The Captain & Tennille * "She's Always a Woman" -- Billy Joel
... and even though it never came close to the top 40, a classic hit classic as a backup extra:
* "Lights" by Journey.

This week's show aired in 2009-I'm under the assumption that the following optional extras are the same: 1)."Who Are You"-The Who 2)."First LDD Interview" (Part 1) 3)."First LDD Interview" (Part 2).

I'm also disappointed that we haven't had a 1971 countdown in ages; I was hoping for the week in which 'Indian Reservation' rose to #1 in its 16th week on the chart, which I do believe was the slowest climb ever to #1. Also, the #1 album of the year in 1971 was the soundtrack to 'Jesus Christ, Superstar', according to both Billboard & CashBox. Your wish will come true....just be patient.....

Their is alot of Olivia Newton John in the 70s and 80s versions this week. Also since this weeks has 2 songs from Grease how long is it before "You're the one that I want" hits the countdown?

That hit the countdown already and hit #1 the second week of June.

That hit the countdown already and hit #1 the second week of June. So it just fell out of top 40 then? Were all 3 of the Grease songs in the countdown at the same time?

Yes on 7/22/78, You're the...., Grease and Hopelessly Devoted to You were in the top 40. Of course Summer Nights, Grease and Hopelessly are in the top 40 on this week's show. 4 hits from Grease in total.

Of course Summer Nights, Grease and Hopelessly are in the top 40 on this week's show. 4 hits from Grease in total. And on this week's 80s AT40, we get three of the five hits from "Xanadu", by Olivia and/or ELO. An even more prolific 1980 soundtrack was "Urban Cowboy", which spun off six top 40 pop hits, only one of which was on the 8/30/80 countdown (which had seven film hits in all).

And know this has been asked before but is it Saturday Night Fever that holds record for the most hits in the 40?

michael, if you are talking about top 40 hits from any album, SNF is at best tied for the most with those 7. Tied with MJ's Thriller and Bad Lps, sister Janet's Rhythm Nation 1814 Lp and Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA Lp. But after initially saying that SNF generated 7 top 40 hits, Casey later said Urban Cowboy and Footloose were tied for most top 40 hits from a movie soundtrack with 6. Personally, I think it has the 7 top 40 hits since they would not have been hits if not for the movie.
bigal, yes the 8/26/78 show is airing for the third time.
michael, if you are talking about most hits in the top 40 in any given week, then SNF definitely has the record. The show in which that record was set was played this year when Disco Inferno and Boogie Shoes both debuted giving SNF 6 hits in the 40 that week.

BTW, does anyone know when the last time was that Premiere played a show for the 3rd time - 70's and 80's? I can't remember it happening since I started listening in mid-2010...

BTW, does anyone know when the last time was that Premiere played a show for the 3rd time - 70's and 80's? I can't remember it happening since I started listening in mid-2010... Actually, this week's 70s show will be making its third appearance. The 8/26/78 show was first broadcast the weekend of 8/25/07, and then 8/15/09. My spreadsheet shows the following other shows from the 70s have aired three times: 9/14/74 - Played on 2/17/07, 9/15/07, and 8/30/08 11/8/78 - Played on 12/8/07, 11/1/08, and 11/7/09 6/18/77 - Played on 6/16/07, 6/14/08, and 5/30/09 10/29/77 - Played on 10/6/07, 10/18/08, and 10/31/09 4/8/78 - Played on 7/31/07, 4/5/08, 4/4/09 The 2007 dates appear off because when the show first started, they didn't always follow the current calendar date.

Right--I should have said when was the last time before this week that a show was aired for a 3rd time...but let me say thanks for the info. Looks like the 10/29/77 show was almost 2 years ago! Premiere must really have thought it would be worth it to air the first LDD show again. (no complaints here btw - I have yet to hear the 8/26/78 show) PS: Imagine how hard it would have been to make predictions if Premiere was still playing shows that didn't align with the current date/time of year?
