WHNN has the 1985 playlist up for this weekend. Usually they have the 70s. Anyone know where I can download the Premier .pdf for AT40 the 70s this weekend's show (7/8/1972)?

Hi everyone...found this great site around Memorial Day...grew up north of Boston and an AT 40 fan since around 74 when I had to find an alternative to WRKO's sunday morning public affairs programming...at the other end of the dial was Casey on WMEX and i've been hooked ever since...again a terrific site... thanks to all of you out there!! Welcome to the board!

They still do, tho sometimes they'll forget a week, and once the month changes, the previous month's links are removed. Check back Saturday or Sunday morning. Their main page has been mentioning a morning-show giveaway of an "AT40 coffee-table book." I'm guessing it's Pete's. DukeDeb, isn't WKIX in your area?

I was traveling through your area....NJ around last weekend however As a result, I am listening to last week's show on Magic98 out of Madison, Wis. right now. Interesting that Casey mentioned how the soft rock did not start in earnest until 1970 and played James Taylor. And with the next song, mentioned Simon & Garfunkel and played Paul Simon. S&G are actually considered the pioneers of soft rock.

WOW! Is WBBG in Ohio listening to my countdowns for ideas for their playlist? As a time filler, they just played 7 Rooms of Gloom by The Four Tops. The ONLY place I have heard anyone play that record in the last 15-20 years is on my 1967 countdown I did in June.
The same thing happens with my local oldies station, stuff starts mysteriously getting played right after I have it in my countdown. Songs I have NEVER heard... EVER on the radio!
meh, just dreaming... loving this 72 countdown though!

He just mentioned my 17th birthday.....better known as the day that Elvis died.....August 16th, 1977.
bme, have you heard that song on your oldies stations, The Wonder of You? I have still not heard it since hearing it on the first AT40 now a full year ago. Go figure!
Ok last comment on the top acts of the 70s. Casey said Elton John spent more time at #1 (as of July 1978) than any other act. He did not though. Even by that time, the Bee Gees had spent more weeks at #1. FYI, in April 1979, he mentioned that the Bee Gees were now the top act of the decade. Between July 1978 and April 1979, they had 2 #1s while Elton had a #22 hit.

Hey Pete, so you listened to this 1972 show from 1-4 am? How appropriate that Last Night I Didn't get to Sleep at all was in it....lol

That's funny about the 2000 people walking out on Alice Cooper after they threw out the chickens. But didn't Ozzy out-chicken them several years later when he ate a chicken or something when he was about to release Diary of a Madman?

Another story on this countdown has similarity to a later incident; listening to the Sonny & Cher story I was reminded of The Beach Boys and James Watt (Reagan's Secretary Of The Interior) in 1983. www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,306121,00.html

At a Des Moines IA concert someone threw a dead bat on stage. Ozzy thought it was a rubber bat and bit it's head off resulting in rabies shots.

Ozzy beats Alice on VH1's "Most Shocking Music Moments" list. The Oz was #10, Alice was somewhere between 11 and 20. Actually, that Alice Cooper story kind of reminded me of the "Turkeys Away" episode of WKRP.
