Goof of the Week: aside from the Alice Cooper outro mentioned previously, this weeks show contained something that happened a number of times over the years, and is an all-time pet peeve of mine: Casey's penchant for mispronouncing "Gulf" as "Golf" -- "from the Golf of Mexico to the Golf of Alaska" he said on this week's show. For some reason it was a common thing back in the day, so I guess that's why no one ever corrected him, but man it drives me up the wall. (Oh and WMGN had the Carpenters/Cooper goof left in just now) Many people still pronounce 'gulf' as 'golf', but for some reason that one does not bother me. However, the equally common mispronunciation of 'buried' as 'berried' does, not to mention the 'lazy' pronunciation of 'often' as 'offen'...

Here's to KNXR in Rochester, MN - they played the corrected and correct outro to Eighteen - #22 this week, same position as last week - Alice Cooper and Eighteen.
Finally got the corrected outro after trying around a dozen stations.

WYYS in Peru, IL also played the correct outro for Eighteen. Maybe the word got around yesterday and more stations will play the corrected outro today.

I remember him saying that after playing "All Cried Out" by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam as a LDD, referring to it as "A number eight hit in Uctober".

If we're going to ding Casey's pronunciation quirks, there's also all the references to the King of Rock'n'Roll or the "King of the Charts", Elvis "Prezley" (at least that's how it sounds to me).

Add KTRQ to the short list of stations that had the corrected Alice Cooper outro.
(But CKWW did not)

I pronounce it with the short 'u', but you are correct that many use the short 'e'.

Buried? I always thought that was pronounced as "berried". I pronounce it with the short 'u', but you are correct that many use the short 'e'. Most Americans, like me, will say "berried." The "burried" pronunciation is very common in places like New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Is that where you're from, mga707?
