Two questions from this week's show about 'Fooled Around and Fell In Love': Did AT40 ever play the full LP version instead of the butchered (IMO)45 version? And did Casey ever switch to IDing the artist as 'The Elvin Bishop Group' (as future Jefferson Starship/Starship vocalist Mickey Thomas is the guy singing) instead of 'Elvin Bishop'? Can't remember the answer to either. Iβm fairly certain that Casey credited the group on AT10 during the first decade of the 2000s when they were playing 10+ extras each show.

I can't believe that "Show Me The Way" was severely edited.

I just noticed HOW MANY disco songs are on the charts from 4/14/79... Yes. Right at the peak. I count 18 disco or disco-ish songs.

Interesting positioning in the 4/10/76 show: Casey previewed an extra from "the most successful duo in the history of the charts", they being the Everly Brothers. This came right after playing "Sara Smile" by Hall & Oates, the very first AT40 hit for the duo who would ultimately give the Everlys the strongest challenge for that title.

I guess being on the air at that time, you didn't realize how many disco songs you were playing during your shift. That is, until Donna Summer came along with "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls"...then you totally realized how it was taking over the airwaves. But I also remember by the end of 79 I made a comment to the afternoon DJ when I came to work one day...wow, there's hardly any more disco songs to play in my playlist.

I'm sure it's already been noted somewhere on this thread, but interesting the past two weeks of At 40 - 70s.... Both # 1 songs are ladies.... Disco Lady Marmalade

You didn't take phone calls for a giveaway in a fill in the blank question- Disco is ______? According to Dr. Johnny Fever, the correct answer is HELLππππ

great 1976 chart this week ,Caseys story about Abba winning the 1974 Eurovision contest brought back happy memories of that saturday night in April 1974 when that show aired. Here in the UK we had Olivia newton john representing us with long live love but sadly it only came 4th behind Mouth and Mcneal as oliva's song wasn't all that good (a song about the salvation army ) but Abba were awesome on the night and especialy when they sung waterloo in english after the had won the contest. Sadly this years contest has had to be cancelled due to the Pandemic ,but hopefully everything will be fine for 2021

It's been awhile, and I hope you're all staying safe in this time of national crisis. It's a d**n scary time, I tell you.
Predicted extras for April 14, 1979:
* "She Believes In Me" β Kenny Rogers, the country-crossover superstar who passed away March 20. * "Good Times Roll" β The Cars. Never made it past No. 41, but this has become a classic hits/oldies staple. * "It Must Be Love" β Alton McLain & Destiny. * "When You're In Love With a Beautiful Woman" β Dr. Hook.

Goof of the Week: Casey said "Misty Blue" was produced by "KC" of the Sunshine Band. It was not.

Of all the songs that peaked at #40 on American Top 40 Hit The Road Jack is up there with Your Move and Burnin' For You as the one that most deserved to go higher. In fact three of the four songs that didn't get out of the 30's on this chart should have done better. We Can't Hide It Anymore on the other hand.......
