Prediction for next week's show: 1st Guess - 4/8/78 2nd Guess - 4/1/72 4/8/78 hasn't been played since 2012 -- odds should be pretty good there. And that was the fourth time out of six years that Premiere played it, making it one of the most overplayed AT40s at the time. But eight years is enough of a rest, and we've only heard an April 1978 standalone once since 2015.

Yeah - I'm still getting caught up on my recorded AT40 shows. From the 03.04.72 show - anyone else catch the goof during the intro to #16 the Bee Gees - My World?
Casey says the Bee Gees are the two twins - BARRY and Maurice and Robin Gibb their brother.

No surprise for either of next week's shows. This one last aired the weekend of March 29-30, 2014 -- the extras were: Hour #1: "Autobahn" - Kraftwerk (#64) Hour #2: "Stand By Me" - John Lennon (#52) Hour #3: "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" - John Denver (#60) I listned to the "12 inch version" of "Autobahn" the other night It still blows me away that a composition like that came from 1974.

I'll have to say I personally could never stand "Autobahn". I know there are fans out there and more power to them, but it didn't do anything for me, combined with the fact that someone on my dorm floor (in the early 80's) played it at a loud volume almost every night, even though there were several guys who told him to knock it off. The 1976 show seems so far removed from next week's date. I wonder if the fact that they didn't save it for the weekend of April 11-12 means that we'll get the yet-unaired April 14, 1979 show that weekend?

You would assume they would have the capability handle everything remotely, both from Premiere corporate and the stations. Pretty easy to remote into the servers, move files around, etc. these days. I'm guessing Hervard is right -- they're going with 4/10/76 so they can play 4/14/79 next week and keep things in sequence. 4/3/76 just aired two years ago, making it pretty much a no-go.

I have to agree. It sounds like something out of early 80s to me anyway. I think they should've left it as an instrumental though....no lyrics were necessary.

4/14/79 would be the obvious choice for the second week in April (or maybe the third), though that would probably extend what is now the longest drought, that being 1973 (no standalones since January). I guess they could play shows dated April 14 from 1973 and 1979 in consecutive weeks; otherwise there's likely no 1973 until May, as both 4/21 and 4/28/73 were aired in the last two years.

Which shows how ahead of their time, or at least influential, Kraftwerk were, as their synth driven sound seems out of place for the mid-70s but fits in well with the early 1980s (and later). I've always thought the same of Donna Summer's 1977 hit "I Feel Love".
