For those of you who are listening to WSQL,is the 3/26/77 countdown edited to pieces? Haven't noticed any really horrible edits yet. "Carry On Wayward Son", always a prime candidate to be chopped, is coming up in two, make that one song.

If there was ever "Charlie's Angels" themed 70's porn music, look no further than "Love In C Minor" by Cerrone in this week's 1977 show.

Speaking of "Charlie's Angels", the actual theme from the series, credited to Henry Mancini, was moving up the Hot 100 on that week, rising 10 notches to #85. It eventually peaked at #45.

No surprise for either of next week's shows. This one last aired the weekend of March 29-30, 2014 -- the extras were: Hour #1: "Autobahn" - Kraftwerk (#64) Hour #2: "Stand By Me" - John Lennon (#52) Hour #3: "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" - John Denver (#60)

Considering how hot (pun only slightly intended) "Charlie's Angels" was it's always boggled my mind that the theme song didn't get any higher then #45. I also always wondered how much the popularity of the show had to do with the unrelated "Undercover Angel" by Alan O'Day hitting #1 that summer. (Although it was, as I said, unrelated there is at least one video floating around YouTube paying tribute to Farrah Fawcett that uses "Undercover Angel" as its music.

When I clicked on the WPAC on-demand player and heard "Year Of The Cat" at the beginning, I thought the station had jumped the gun and started the show about 45 minutes early, since that song was at #31 on this week's show.

In it's original release a year earlier it just barely made the 'Hot 100', peaking at #97.

With all the insanity happening this week, I almost forgot. The 1977 countdown on Sunday morning on WTOJ is SUPERSIZED! All original AT40 song edits removed.

It looks like that the original extra, "Stop! In the Name of Love" by the Supremes, is still deleted from the show.

Prediction for next week's show:
1st Guess - 4/8/78 2nd Guess - 4/1/72
4/8/78 hasn't been played since 2012 -- odds should be pretty good there.
