Regarding the situation with The Monkees,Mike Nesmith had a confrontation with Don Kirshner, who was the musical supervisor for their TV series-He supposedly said to Kirshner:"We're being passed off as something we aren't"-Eventually,Kirshner was fired.

Can't believe "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is fifty years old-It's such an iconic song & Art Garfunkel really nailed the vocals.

For some reason WKIX played the 1978 show that was aired last week

WTOJ had audio issues ...left channel was severely muted thus have to opt for the original edit of this show for my archived recording ...if this kind of detail doesn't bother you it is otherwise listenable in mono... if not the imbalanced audio will make it a hard listen in it's intended stereo form

As usual,Ken Martin did a yeoman job with his supersized presentation of the countdown from 2/21/76.

WPAC has basically the entire show on the player this week. All that's cut out is part of Larry's intro (starts out, "Top 40: The 70s. This week's presentation..."

It's another Supersized AT40 this weekend. There are some hefty edits in this weekends AT40 show which have been removed for this weeks presentation on WTOJ. Sunday morning at 9 AM. While extending these unfairly edited song gems, I also wouldn't mind if you'd cut 'The White Knight' down to a more tolerable 30 seconds or so. Man, that thing is excruciatingly bad... There are quite a few of these "gems" that come up when I'm working on these shows which also make me cringe.

I wish I was able to cringe while listen to my recording but dar.fm screwed up 4 segments for me and I couldn't get the entire supersized show (same happened last week, too).

I was looking over my output for the past several years. I didn't realize just how many shows I've converted to stereo. There were 137 shows originally presented in mono. Of those, only 31 still exist which haven't been given the mono2stereo treatment. And looking at the schedule for the rest of 2020, 4 of those 31 will be done by years end, taking the number down to 27 remaining.

Oh how i wish there was access to those 106 that was already given the mono2stereo reboot.....would make a nice commemorative idea as AT40 gets ready to turn 50 in July.....just a thought

I also created the top 80 hits of 1973 (vs the original top 40). And of course the Christmas countdowns where I put in the audio AT40 couldn't find when the show was produced. Does that count? I've toyed with the idea of doing the top 80 of '71 and a full top 100 of 1979, but have been too busy with other stuff. For Supersizing, I'm not sure. Maybe a dozen of those? There appears to be an appetite for those since my stations streaming numbers skyrocket when I announce one of those is being played.

I know it couldn't be an AT40 network special - would only air on WTOJ - but I think it would be a wonderful few hours of specials (and very labor intensive) to do a - all the #1 hits of the 60's - based on the AT40 the 80's playing them 3 songs per week.

Ken - I vote for the full top 100 of 1979, that would be one awesome show. I know we all appreciate the work you do to bring us these specials that honor Casey's memory so well. A big thank you!
