I got bits and pieces of the 1977 show on KLFM due to a long phone conversation, but I caught the Ace Frehley electrocution story in which would become an inspiration to the Kiss song "Shock Me" off of the Love Gun album released later on in 1977. I missed that, but I do recall Casey doing a story on Bette Midler being electrocuted.

At the close of the 2/9/74 show,Casey mentioned that he was on the Dean Martin celebrity roast-He was dressed up as Adolph Hitler-I believe there's a video of that on You Tube.

Interesting that they decided to change around the extras so much, especially the George Harrison cut; "Apple Scruffs" was played as an OE the last time this show aired in 2012. Back then, Tom Jones' "She's a Lady" (voiced by Larry Morgan) was the 3rd hour extra after "Sunshine Superman" (1st Hour) and "Apple Scruffs" (2nd Hour). So it looks like the Petula Clark cut will be a manufactured Casey-voiced extra, and Tony Bennett and Donovan switch places. Dropping lesser known early 70's material seems to be a trend. I don't care for it, but I can understand it.

That week's AT40 cue sheet mentions that as well as a Casey appearance on "Hawaii Five-O" the following week, in which he played "the part of a heavy in ... of all things . .. the broadcasting business". In June 1974 Casey went to Hawaii to film a part in another H5O episode, and to accommodate his schedule AT40 had to "guess" the chart for 6/29/74 since Billboard didn't have theirs ready before his departure.

No guesses for the 70s next week? I'd guess either 2/14/76 or 2/18/78; those shows haven't been standalones in at least five years and those are the calendar years that haven't been aired in longest with shows from that week that can be played this year. I might have chosen 2/16/74 if we didn't have a 1974 B this week, or 2/17/79 if it hadn't been played just last year.

Prediction for next week's show: 1st Guess - 2/10/79 2nd Guess - 2/18/78 Should be either of these years or 1976...but this is the 70's series, where just about anything can happen.

So 2-14-76 could work,'79 would be good too.

Really enjoying the '71 show now on WSQL. Variety abounds, love Wilson Pickett,Ray Price and Bread sounding like Paul Revere and the Raiders.

After the relative chart failures of "Let Your Love Flow" and "Mother Freedom", Bread played it safe with slow ballads and did not release any more 'rockin'' tunes as singles.

The cue sheet for the 2/6/71 show has them playing George Harrison's "Isn't it a Pity" at #3 but somehow "My Sweet Lord" was played instead on WSQL.
