Anyone have a url to listen to WJJR? The 'listen now' button on their website pops up a player - which never works for me. It does not display a separate web address. Here is the entry from the 70's station list for WJJR. There is a URL, but the station is geo-blocked. So, that's why the pop-up player doesn't work, and most likely, the URL won't either. Saturday 6 am - 9 am WJJR - Mix 98.1 - Rutland VT 98.1 FM Listen - Stream Links: player.streamtheworld.com/_players/pamal/?callsign=WJJRFMplayer.listenlive.co/51801Listen – Stream URL: provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/wjjrfm.plsStreams are geo-blocked Website: www.wjjr.net/Plays Optional ExtrasNOTE: Not on a consistent basis (Usually the last one is skipped) Station also airs AT 40 80's Sundays at 12 noon.

Thanks - that explains it. What is the purpose of a geo-block? Is it dictated by somebody other than the station? Why would the station object to people across the country listening to the station?

Will WPAC be putting the full, four-hour show up on their player? Yes. You can hear the entire show on the "Mornings" link that is only available today, or the final three hours on the other link that will be up for a week.

Interesting how on November 11, 1978, Casey did a story on the San Diego KGB-AM chicken, noting the crazy promos that radio stations sometimes did. This aired just after an even crazier fictional radio promo stunt did so on TV, that being WKRP in Cincinnati's Turkey Drop ("As God is my witness, I swore turkeys could fly!"), which was based on a real stunt by Atlanta's WQXI.

That turkey drop episode of "WKRP In Cincinnati" is a classic.

Unless I missed something, this is the only confirmed 1971 so far. Anyone know of any others? 2NUR should have the 1971 show. WKDK (airs extras) is a possibility. WKDK is playing 1978.

KXGL will probably air 10/30/71 tomorrow. I don't think KXGL, 2NUR or WMGN play optional extras on a regular basis.

(to saltrek) What is the purpose of a geo-block? Is it dictated by somebody other than the station? Why would the station object to people across the country listening to the station? Geoblocking allows the station to control its streaming royalty (SoundExchange) expenses, which are based on the number of streams generated by the streaming provider. dL

What I liked about the countdown from 11/11/78 was that you heard the album versions of songs like "My Life","Reminiscing","Hot Child In The City" & "Strange Way".

WRZX Dayton OH played 2/14/76 today. After passing on show after show from 1979 as well as 'B' shows from 1978, KXGL played 11/11/78.

KXGL will probably air 10/30/71 tomorrow. I don't think KXGL, 2NUR or WMGN play optional extras on a regular basis. KXGL went with the 11.11.78 show.
