I think that they've been starting with the Christmas B shows too early, but they apparently have to if the idea is to get every one of them (the 1970s AT40 specials and 2000s AT10) a turn, though that means the earlier ones are perhaps unfairly overlooked as many affiliates that switch to all-holiday music don't do so until later. I liked it when the 1971 holiday special was first played in 2012 as the regular choice for all 70s affiliates the last week before Christmas, though they can't do that every year. Unfortunately they start them that early because that's when stations need them. Heck, some have already switched. I do wish the 1971 & 1973 shows would be saved for closer to Christmas when more stations would potentially air them and when I would want to hear them. Those generic AT10 shows could be used as filler now, and the good shows could be saved for December.

For 11/13/76, I'll go with:
"Lonely Bull" "It Keeps You Runnin'" "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word"

I think three stations ran 1971 on Saturday, WQMV, 2NUR and WMGN. WMGN should repeat next Saturday morning. WQMV aired one extra ("96 Tears") but otherwise I don't think any of them played the extras.

Though we did get a bit of "Your Move" in the 1987 show, when Casey led into "Love Will Find a Way" with a story about why Yes only had two top 40 hits (that and "Roundabout") in the 1970s even while their albums were popular--the songs were simply too long for pop radio and the band didn't like editing them. I did hear 10/30/71, without any optional extras, from 2NUR last night; I had been looking for it as we haven't gotten that year from Premiere or Sirius XM since August and it had a number of songs that we aren't getting in any countdown this year otherwise.

^ Love that Doobies song; one of my faves by them. Deserved much better than its #37 peak. Very underrated, IMO.

I had forgotten about it until Forrest Gump came out in '94, with "It Keeps You Runnin'" both on the soundtrack and in the movie where Forrest goes on his crazy long run across the USA. Been a fan of the song ever since.

Am looking forward to the upcoming 11/13/76 show for the simple reason that I have never heard it, not even when new. At the time I was listening to AT40 on an FM station out of Phoenix (120 or so miles away), KBBC. If I put my portable radio in a certain place and had the antenna just so, I could pick them up on Sunday mornings for the show. Heard the show the previous Sunday, when 'Rok'n Me' made it somewhat unexpected move to the #1 spot, and was interested to see if it would stay there another week. But no AT 40 that next Sunday morning--KBBC had dropped the show! Yes, I was ticked off. Never would nave guessed that ol' Rod the Mod would jump up from #8 to #1 for his seven (or eight, if one counts the 'dead week') stay at the top. Wouldn't know it for a few months until I finally found out that my University library had a 'Billboard' subscription.

"Tonight's The Night" turned out to be Rod's biggest hit-By the way,the gal that speaks French towards the end of the song is actress Britt Ekland who was his main squeeze back then.
