Here are the optional extras for 10/25/75: 1)."Love Machine"-The Miracles 2)."That's The Way I Like It"-KC & The Sunshine Band 3)."Let's Do It Again"-Staple Singers Three future #1s, and each went to the top at a different pace: K.C. & Co sprinting to the peak, only four weeks later; The Staples taking an average length of time, hitting #1 the final week of the year (the last year that particular week would not be the 'frozen week', BTW); while The Miracles dawdled mightily on their way up the chart, not hitting #1 until the first week of March '76!

^Well, that gives us at least two yet-unplayed shows this month Actually, there's a fairly good chance that we'll hear another one - one of the 1979 shows. The second week of November is likely when we'll hear the AT40 from 11/13/1976. The week after that will probably be an earlier-70s show (since it will have been several weeks since one was featured as an "A" offering). 11/17/1973 would be an excellent candidate, as it has only been played once, back in 2008. Then, the weekend of 11/23-24 would be the week that we get 11/24/1979. Unless they decide to wait for the following week to play 12/1/1979, but somehow, I doubt that. Stranger things have happened, though. Anyway, those are my predictions over the next few weeks. We now have seven years that will have been completed by mid-month. Only 1972, 1975, and 1979 still have unplayed Casey-hosted shows left. After November, it won't be until at least April when we'll hear a "new" show.

Haven't had too many lately for obvious reasons. 11/17/73 is a good choice for the weekend of Nov. 16th, and 1974 is overdue as well (for the record, 11/16/74 last aired in 2015, 11/23/74 in 2013, and 11/30/74 in 2014). There should be one more 1971 'A' show at some point too.

I'll go with
Meatloaf-"You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth" Hot Chocolate-"Every 1's A Winner" Queen-"Bicycle Race/Fat Bottomed Girls" (I'll choose the B side if played) Linda Ronstadt-"Ooh Baby Baby"
One song that we will not hear as an extra, but would be funny is "In The Bush" by Musique
An interesting factoid about 11-11-78 is that all 5 debut songs were all by male acts including our introduction to Toto's "Hold The Line".

One of the best-known #40 singles of the decade.

OK, listening to the show for a second time on KLFM (WSQL was the first, yesterday). Anyone else notice that the pitch gets a little off in the middle of "Games People Play" at #5? "Lyin' Eyes" sounds a little off-pitch as well. Sounds like it sped up just a tiny bit.

Why is it that the "B" word is censored from "Bad Blood" but it's okay in "The "B" is Back"? Silly!

Why is it that the "B" word is censored from "Bad Blood" but it's okay in "The "B" is Back"? Silly! I'm guessing the rationale is that, with the Elton hit, it's in the title, and also he's referring to himself (as opposed to denigrating someone else). Even famously conservative WABC, which had banned "My Ding-a-Ling" 2 years before, and which would even have problems with "Kiss You All Over" (!) in 1978, left Elton's B's alone (but they did delete the line about sniffing glue).

That means no 1979 show from 11/24 or 12/1. Wondering if 11/17 might get played, which last aired in 2012.

1971 predicted extras:
* "She's All I Got" -- Freddie North. A cover of the country song made far more famous by Johnny Paycheck. * "All I Ever Need Is You" -- Sonny & Cher. Seven and one-half years later, a No. 1 country hit by Kenny Rogers and Dottie West. * "Baby I'm a Want You" -- Bread.
For 1978:
* "I'm Every Woman" -- Chaka Khan. * "Promises" -- Eric Clapton. * "My Best Friend's Girl" -- The Cars.
... and yes, the obligatory country prediction ... of course, what would my predictions be without ...:
* "The Gambler" -- Kenny Rogers. (On its second week in the Hot 100, this time at No. 73 (up from its entry position of 84) and on its way to No. 16 on the pop charts, No. 1 on the country charts. It'd become a core part of who Kenny was, IMO: A great storyteller and multi-faceted stylist, who could do everything from ballads to uptempo pop-rock to good storytelling.)

Then we won't be out of unplayed 70s shows until at least 2021, because apparently neither will be played this year (so what's with the months long 1979 holdup?) and since they were in consecutive weeks both probably won't be in 2020. (Being dated in different months you could play them in one year with one or two weeks between them, but even that's likely too close together.)
