WSQL has it on tap right now.... With two (identical) newscasts so far. Last week we were lucky and didn't have to sit through any.

...just 'enjoyed' the usual minute-and-a-half butchering of "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me"! Poor Barry, why did AT40 always chop down his bouncy-beaty final big hit so much?

A note to any Radio KLFM listeners: the State of Victoria moved to Daylight Saving Time last week, meaning that the show will be starting an hour earlier (9 pm EDT) tomorrow.

Oct 19, 1974 last aired in 2008, wow... and as a B.. Yeah, definitely and odd arrangement of A vs B for these two shows considering a couple things: 1) 10/19/74 has not aired in the Larry Morgan era and therefore will need to be redone with Larry introducing the show, optional extras, etc. while 10/17/70 last aired in 2010, and 2) this is now three 1970 shows in less than three months (and now three 1970 shows since 1979 was last offered as an 'A' -- and here I keep thinking that the demand for early 70's shows would be on the decline). The only other time I remember this happening was in April 2016 when 4/18/81 was offered as an 'A' and 4/19/86 as a 'B', which made no sense at the time for the same reason -- 4/18/81 had been played before with Larry M as host, while 4/19/86 had not and therefore needed all new intros. 99% of the time, the redone/updated show is the 'A' and the show recycled as-is is the 'B'. I would assume there will be a decent number of stations offering 10/19/74 including KOKZ.

Am really looking forward to both of these: Two first-half-decade shows is a treat, at least for me. And the '74 show will be one I've never heard, since there was no AT40 affiliate in my local area in fall '74, and I didn't start listening to the Premiere shows until early in 2010, save for a couple of shows I had found on vacations in '08 and '09.

The optional extras for 10/17/70 show in 2010 were:
"Jumpin' Jack Flash" The Rolling Stones "Twixt 12 & 20" Pat Boone "Make The World Go Away" Eddy Arnold
The optional extras for 10/19/74 show in 2008 were:
"Cat's In The Cradle" Harry Chapin "Rock Me Gently" Andy Kim "Wishing You Were Here" Chicago

I'll guess either 'Angie Baby' or 'i Can Help' (both future #1s) as it's replacement.

Who are the most likely candidates to play the 1970 show next weekend? I would guess WSQL on Thursday and KLFM on Friday, for two. Both seem to always go with the 'A' show.

Who are the most likely candidates to play the 1970 show next weekend? If you don't mind waking up early on Saturday morning, check out WUPE-FM online (North Adams, MA). They play the 70's show every Sat 6 AM eastern time, and it's always the A show.

In the recent 1972/1979 weekend, I heard the 1972 "A" show on WLVI on Saturday afternoon and WZEU on Sunday afternoon.

Who are the most likely candidates to play the 1970 show next weekend? KMXG of Clinton, Iowa/Quad Cities seems to play Ashows more often. So there’s a possibility. Brian
