If only 1974 had been played last week... it would have made a lot more sense since it was a long time 1/26/1974 had been last played. I do see 1/26/1974 being a possibility for 2025 (along with a B show next year, unless if Premiere changes the standalone status criteria once again). 1/26/1974 was played on XM last weekend. Definitely a candidate for Premiere next year.

I'm curious what we consider the five dirtiest ever played on AT40 were. At the time the other four would have been three that were mentioned upthread and one by the same artist as one of those three. In chronological order: -Jungle Fever -My Ding-A-Ling -Rockin' And Reelin' -Pillow Talk (I had actually forgotten about that one until mga707 mentioned it) -Love To Love You Baby The "dirtiest song in 2.5 years" reference was going back to Rockin' And Reelin'.

I expected to hear a clip of the first song on that list while hearing the 2/10/90 CT40. Mark Elliott guest hosting for Casey mentioned that Technotronic was the third Belgian act to hit the top 10. After playing a clip of the first, "Dominique" by the Singing Nun, he mentioned but did not play a clip of "Jungle Fever". Of course they were basing the statement about hitting the top 10 on the Hot 100 as both hits came prior to the inception of R&R. I wonder if R&R had existed back in early 1972 whether it would have made their top 10. Stations were probably reluctant to play that song. Not sure why CT40 was reluctant to play clip of it however. Times had changed by 1990.

Yea Matt. After I typed that message, I had forgotten about the AT 40 SXM thread on here. So went and checked - yes that was the show I heard (1/17/76) I knew this one was one week later.. Just thought it was strange hearing back-to-back weeks on consecutive weekends on different networks. Not really; in August 1970 was on SXM and the "B" show the next and the same 1977 show was the same weekend as Premiere's 'B'. The next month 1975 (different shows) were the same weekend, and in Oct SXM played 1979 which was the 'A' show the following weekend. And here we go again THIS week! LOL SXM last weekend: 1/26/74 AT 40 this week: 2/2/74

Ah so that's the Barry White song used in the Jadore perfume commercial. Heard it several time while watching games and never got around to figuring out which song it was.

What? I thought we would only have to suffer through one "Americans" on this show, not both!
Pete's book says that Byron's cover version wasn't played, yet here it is on-air as I type this.

In the original show which I am hearing, Casey says 'In the #5 spot is Byron McGregor's "The Americans". Since we already heard Gordon Sinclair's version earlier, we will move on to the next song in the countdown'. That must also mean Premiere edited other songs to make room for that. Bad move!

The cue sheet on Charis Music group for 2-2-74 confirms it wasn't played. Premier pitchforked the puck ahead and slipped one past the goalie.

Premiere must've edited that back in. That track is only 6 seconds in my original copy, which is Casey simply stating what you typed.

There are other shows when AT40 skipped Byron MacGregor's version. Is this the first time Premiere has edited in that version?

Last year, Sirius XM aired shows from 1973,1974,1976 & 1979 over the previous 4 weeks. The last 4 weeks, Premiere has aired shows from 1973,1974,1976 & 1979. Identical except for the 1973 shows being a week apart.
I'll go with 2/13/71 over 2/5/72 & 2/12/77 for next weekend. 2/13/71 was last aired by Premiere in 2018. The 1972 show last aired as an A show in 2015. 2/12/77 was last featured as an A show in 2016. I'll go with 1977 for the B show.
Last February, SXM aired 2/13/71.
