WSQL starting the full 4-hour 11/11/78 show right now, with a 'lost 45' that would go no higher than the lead-off position. Stream doesn't sound TOO bad, just a bit 'muddy'.

Unless we forget.....1978 was the year RSO and the Bee Gees ruled the HOT 100 charts And speaking of RSO Records, this week's show is the first 'Grease'-free top 40 week since the beginning of April. "Summer Nights" is one of the five 'droppers'.

Casey certainly played up the archives feature the first several weeks of it. On the first 4 hour show that was played a few weeks back, he gave the specific date or week that the song hit #1 and continued that a bit. Was not doing that by this show but tells a story about Diana Ross and teased the Jackson 5. A couple months later, he would tell a story about "American Pie".
'Approximately 6 disco songs in the countdown'. Let's decipher that statement. There are 6 hits that had made the disco chart, by Donna Summer, Alicia Bridges, Sylvester, A Taste of Honey, Funkadelic and Village People. There is one more disco song but it had not and will not make the disco chart..."Everybody Needs Love". That may be why "approximate' was said. By the way, that falls under the category of 'lowest peaking top 40 hit which is your favorite by that artist' for me.
Historic too 10 this week. 9 of the top 10 are the artist's biggest hit at the time. Happened a few times in AT40 history to that point. No top 10s so far with all 10 being the artist's biggest hit. The one that's not the artists biggest hit in this week's show is about as obvious as it gets!

Optional extras for November 11, 1978: Hour #1: "New York Groove" - Ace Frehley (#50) Hour #2: "Ooh Baby Baby" - Linda Ronstadt (#59; highest debut) Hour #3: "Sloop John B" - The Beach Boys (original AT40 extra) Hour #4: "Too Much Heaven" - The Bee Gees (NR) All the same as before. "Too Much Heaven" would enter the Hot 100 at #35 the following week. No Quincy Jones tribute for the OPTIONAL EXTRAS? I would have replaced "Ooh Baby Baby" with "Stuff Like That". Stuff Like That was played as an extra replacing Ooh Baby Baby in hour 2 on WSQL. Nice tribute to Q by Larry Morgan.

Ambrosia's next single would soon tie this one at a #3 peak, Donna Summer of course would go on to score three more #1s over the next two years, while Foreigner and Kenny Loggins would both have their highest-charting hits in the '80s.

I'll go with 11/22/75 over 11/20/71 & 11/26/77 for next weekend. The 1975 show last aired in 2010. 1971 & 1977 has not been featured as an A show since August. 11/20/71 was last featured by Premiere in 2015, while 11/26/77 was last featured in 2017.

Maybe the November 30-December 1, 2024 weekend could have 1977 - 11/26/1977 to be exact since 12/3/1977 was guest hosted by Mark Elliott.

WSMG is certainly getting it's full use of the 9/15/1979 show. Last night marked the fourth consecutive week they played it in the Thursday 7PM slot. (This time last year they played the 10/15/1983 show for a month straight)

Next week should be either 1974 or 1975. 74 played last on 9-7-24, and 75 played last on 9-14-24.

I was hoping for November. But Premiere is overly emphasizing late 70's shows. This trend undoubtedly will continue in 2025.
