1/20/1979 is this weekend's A show? Could the B show be 1/24/1976? They won't pair '76 with '79. I'll say '71 or '72 for the B show. They have paired 1979 with 1976 before, and even 1977. Not exactly unheard of, but both pairings last occurred in 2017 and 2015, respectively.

Please not 1972--we just heard that as well as 1978 Year End Countdown very recently. Several other years to go with like 71, 74 and 75?

All 3 OPTIONAL EXTRAS for AT40: the 70's 1/6/1973 were Casey voiced rather than Larry Morgan voiced. Were they created with Casey Kasem AT40 bits? They would've had to be -- more of the latest trend of fabricating extras from bits of other shows. Funny thing, I believe the same songs were played as op extras during the previous airing in 2015, and those would've been Larry Morgan voiced...could've just run with those? The extras from the show when it aired in 2015 were Casey voiced. I had recorded it then and listened again this weekend.

Or, is it possible that 1/20/1979 could actually be the B show? Maybe they're trying to surprise us and give an earlier 70s year the A show.
I do think 1974 holds off until the weekend of 1/27... 1/26/1974 hasn't aired since 2016 though this would be the first time it would pair with another show (unless they changed the standalone rule this year).

SPOILER ALERT for January 16, 1971…
After XM’s airing of the Top 80 of 1970 over the past two weeks, this week Premiere offers the original follow-up program, the first regular singles countdown of 1971. (It was also AT40’s first weekly broadcast using a January chart date.) At the time, Billboard annually published 52 Hot 100 surveys, including charts dated late December and early January. Unfortunately, due to AT40’s 1970 year-end special, countdowns that would’ve showcased the singles charts of 1/2/71 and 1/9/71 were pre-empted.
To bring listeners up to date for the 1/16/71 program, Casey introduced 12 recordings for the first time. Although there were a dozen debuts that provided ‘new sounds’ during the first half of the show, the final hour offered hints of a partially ‘frozen chart’ from 12/26/70. In fact, with a minimal number of position changes, seven of the Top 10 singles from 1970’s final weekly program remained among the Top 10 on 1/16/71.
But was there a new #1? Let the countdown begin.

Is this the first time that Premiere and Sirius are going with the exact same chart on the same day? Has Sirius announced the date of this weekend's show already? Nothing yet on the AT40 on XM thread.
