Well I hit my second Trifecta this week, though I have to admit I became quite skeptical about the '72 show when the Dick Clark show was announced. Not expecting a repeat this week--as a matter of fact I could easily go 0 for 3 this time around. With that, here goes for the weekend of May 12th:
80's: 5/16/87 70's: 5/15/76 SXM: 5/12/73
Hard to believe, but unless I'm missing something, SXM has yet to play a single show from May 1973 in the five-plus years they have been airing the 70's shows. The 80's show is a tough one this week...not many that can be ruled out.

Wow, it took me 10 seconds to figure out the first 2 series but about 10 minutes to figure out the 80s series. The 2 years that are most likely from one perspective are out IMO because they had shows played in the last 3 years and they are the same date....5/14/88 and 5/14/83. So I am going to say that first ever show from May 84 will be played next week. Also predicting a never before played month for SXM.
80s......5/12/84 70s......5/15/76 SXM......5/12/73

So it's do or die for Premiere to cross off May 1984 as the only untapped month of the 80's series...and I am going to break my 1984 strike and say they do it. For the week of May 19th:
80's - 5/19/84 70's - 5/21/77 SXM - 5/19/73
The SXM show may be subject to change since we haven't gotten word as to what they're playing this weekend. You could probably swap the two 70's shows--could easily see Premiere playing '78 and SXM playing '77...
Update - changing SXM to '73 since they are playing a '79 show this week.

Ok, my turn. I would not pick 5/19/84 if I did not think Premiere was going to play every unplayed month in both series this year. BTW, the other such months are Oct 1975, June and Sept. 1979 and July 1987. So Oct 1975 will be the last month to be played for the first time if indeed it works out this way (a bonus prediction for ya). I would have picked 5/21/83 if May 1984 had been played previously. As for the other two, it is definitely time for a late 70s show in the 70s series and SXM is the least predictable these days. At least they did not play 5/11/74 for the third straight year. What is it with this show that both networks have played it twice already this decade?
80s.........5/19/84 70s.........5/21/77 SXM.........5/17/75

Here goes for the weekend of May 26th:
80's - 5/28/83 70's - 5/29/76 SXM - 5/24/75
So we finally got a May '84 show, which is likely the last 1984 show before the end of June...we'll assume that we get our last 1983 show before the end of June next weekend. I am really tempted to pick a '73 show for Premiere, but I'm guessing they go late 70's for a second straight week. SXM...well who knows?

Way to go Wahoo. You caught a 20 pound fish this week. The pressure is on for next week. It's harder to stay at the top than get to the top.

The only 3 for 3 that I am going for right now is when I said a couple weeks ago that the remaining years to be played this month in the 80s would be 88, 84 and 83. Got the first 2 so they need to play 83 to fulfill that one. I thought it might be piggyback time with 1973 but I think Premiere will hold off and play the show when Sir Paul hits the top on June 2nd. (Sir Paul is temporarily nudged from the top on the survey I HAVE predicted) At last SXM played 1973 after I had given up on that happening. Better late than never guys!
80s.....5/28/83 70s.....5/29/76 SXM.....5/24/75
And I just noticed as you can see by the edit time that wahoo predicted the same 3 shows. Just to be a little different, a backup prediction for the 70s is 5/26/73.

OK, so some major curve balls for this coming weekend. Who would have guessed that we would end up with 2 shows being offered? I also didn't think we would hear 1971 again after having had a '71 show in April. So with that...here goes for the weekend of June 2nd (can't believe it's already June!):
80's - 6/6/81 70's - 6/5/76 SXM - 5/31/75
No real clue what SXM will do, but going back to Premiere, I sure thought an '83 show this weekend would be a slam dunk--shows you what I know. Guessing we will hear 6/18/83 in a few weeks--after all they almost have to play one more regular '83 show don't they? They could decide to repeat 6/4/83...which would be the 4th time for that show.

Wow what a tough week for predictions this was for me. All 3 series required a lot of thought and research. And making matters even more difficult is figuring out whether recent artist deaths factor in what shows they play. For the 70s series, I am somewhat counting on that factor. 1978 is due to be played soon and based on a story being told about the Bee Gees chart success from 1975-78, I think the 6/10/78 show will be played(the following week). But my main prediction for this week is that I will not get a trifecta!!
80s.....6/6/81 70s.....6/2/73 SXM.....6/3/72

When my best prediction is "I won't get a trifecta", I think it is only appropriate since I have been digging up most of Casey's #1 predictions from 1973 lately to say what he said on a show back then.
There will be no predictions from me this week. That way, I won't be wrong!

Almost forgot since I wasn't at work today that it is prediction time...so here goes for the weekend of June 9th:
80s - 6/7/80 70s - 6/12/76 SXM - 6/7/75
Well, if I'm seeing things correctly, SXM has yet to play a show from June 1975 in the almost 6 years of airing AT40 shows. They ended their void of May 1973 shows a couple weeks back, so why not end the June '75 strike?
As for Premiere...well I am going with 1976 for a third straight week, so once again I am a glutton for punishment. I sure would think we get a June '76 show this year though...

One year away from a superfecta. Don't know if I can top that, but I'll try Casey lite: 1981 once again, same chart as this week's Premiere SXM: 1977 70s: 1973 80s: 1983 Guessing we don't get 1983 from Premiere, since the show for that year would be 6/11/83--a show we heard on this weekend last year.
