American Top 40: The 60's has a new name! Basically I wanted the show to be more my own. The content is the same, just no useage of AT40 things. (Aside from break jingles for now) A new theme and new name are the main changes. Debut Episode: 6-5-65 www.megaupload.com/?d=38U2MFYMCue Sheet: www.megaupload.com/?d=ROYVCRO6Enjoy! Please let me know what you think!

Josh Joel, you have a Retro Soul countdown show that is under construction? Have the construction workers work overtime and let me know when it is done. Thanks. You just made my day.

Give some examples of what you play. I like old soul and funk! I like on my show when I get a week with alot of Motown songs! I will be doing a special on the all time Motown hits at some point!

I've stuck to the 1980s rotating each episode carefully naturally by the year. The last couple have been from 1982, 1989, and 1988. The charts are not compiled by Billboard. At the moment I'm just finishing up 1980.

Josh Joel, sounds like you will have a take on why the number of soul songs in the top 40 went from an average of 15 in the 70s to about half that in the 80s. Do you know what happened?

One of my favorite 80's R&B/Soul songs was Who's Holding Donna Now by Debarge. Overjoyed by Stevie Wonder is another!

I have just discovered the show and i like it veruy much since the late 60's are my favorite years.
I had a problem downloading the show from 3/26/1966 since the segment 7 does not open , can you please check and tell me if it's my computer or can you post this segment back ( it was included in a zip file with 3 shows in a row ) .
Thanks

We're sorry about the problem. I'll check into that and at the least I'll upload Segment 7. Was that the only problem segment or show?
Stay tuned. Next week is 1966 and the following 3 weeks will be years between 67 and 69!

I found that problem on segment 7 only , for the moment. Thanks for your kind reaction.
I hope , one day - maybe at christmas period - you will have the time to offer us a complete Year-end Top 100 ( betwen 1967 and 1969 ) although i know it must be a lot of work to prepare.
Anyway , tahnks again for your shows.

We have MANY MANY specials planned throughout the year. Not just 60's related. Not sure what my year end special will be yet, had alot of suggestions.
Some of my specials coming up will include:
Top 50 Elton John Top 50 Written & Sung by The Bee Gees Top 120 Instrumentals of all time Top 100 Jackson family Top 50 or 100 Country Crossover Artists Top 40 all time Stevie Wonder Top 40 all time Chicago/Solo Top 50 all time Supremes/Diana Ross Top 100 all time Motown (May do 200 if there is alot, haven't begun preparations yet) Top 100 One Hit Wonders (4 seperate countdowns, 60's, 70's, 80's 90's)
I'm sure there's more, just what came to mind off the top of my head.
