Questions:
First, assuming there is a countdown of the 100 biggest hits of 2010, what weekends are they?
Second, what is the best station to listen to online---one that has a good clear stereo signal and plays all the extras, which in this case consists of songs in the countdown.
Thanks!

Top 100 starts next weekend. Not sure what station is best.

Actally, this week Ryan said the year end show will only be a Top 40.

Considering that Mediabase 24/7 only published a Top 50 for every genre for this year's year-end edition, this is likely going to be the trend of the future.

I look forward to the very special top 100 year end shows every year. It's the one time each year where I am guaranteed to take time out and actively listen to all of the countdown shows that I can.
Just another disappointing trend about countdown shows lately. None of the shows is doing a top 100?? Boo!

Well, on the R&B side Walt "Baby" Love's "The Countdown" has never done anything more than a Top 60 for the year-ends. As a matter of fact, it was always a two part series during the week of Christmas and New Years. So I guess I shouldn't be "mad" at that, huh?

You know, if Casey Kasem was still on the air.... Just saying.. He'd be counting down the top 60 HAC and top 30 AC hits of the year...

Okay, anyone know of any top 40 stations doing a top 100 or so that stream? I'd like to be listening...
Z100/NYC has something on their website about the "Top 50 of 2010 (So Far)" so they might not do a top 100 this year. Anyone know about others?

Is it possible someone came to the conclusion 100 songs was stretching it with how long songs chart and the airplay only a handful at a time get, and thus have knocked it down to 50? Or is it possible that AT40 is going to do another special countdown the week after?

AT40 will do the Top 40 of 2010 this weekend. Then on New Years weekend they will might countdown the Top 40 songs of the past decade.

I read on another board that they are going to countdown the top 40 songs of 2010 on both weekends. But, the new Year's weekend show will not be a re-broadcast. There will be different interviews and such.

I think it should be noted that this may not be Ryan Seacrest's decision. This smells of Premiere/Clearchannel. It sounds like something their execs who make these kinds of decisions would decide.
I know people on this board don't have the same affection for Seacrest as they do for Casey Kasem. But not everything that changes is necessarily his call. And for the person who made the comment about Casey Kasem and had be been hosting, he'd be doing whatever those in charge told him he would, be it Top 100, Top 60, Top 30, 2 weeks of the same show, etc.
