Gosh, I simply hope we'll have the right second part!!! I found another streaming station that plays the 80's Edition, 1570 The Blizzard, Youngstown OH, but the times are not specified, except that it runs on Saturday: whiplashradio.media.officelive.com/default.aspx

With Rick, you never know. He could jump into part II of the 87 of 87. You guessed right!! This is exactly what happened, I can't believe my ears, but this week, Rick is counting down the 40 biggest of 1987!!!

I suspected Rick only did a Top 40 of the year in 1987, but I wasn't sure. This confirms it. I have the Rick show from 12/26/87 and its a regular survey.
ps. The reason I suspected they might air a different year this week was how the year ends were treated on XM. XM aired part I of the year end of 1995, and then aired part II of the year end of 1997 the following week.

#41 was Simply Red's "Holding back the years". I don't remember what was #42 & #43 were. #42: Danger Zone - Kenny Loggins #43: R.O.C.K. In The USA - John Cougar Mellencamp (BTW, the JCM song is playing right now on WRVF as a "filler extra" (during AT40: The 80s).

I suspected Rick only did a Top 40 of the year in 1987, but I wasn't sure. This confirms it. I have the Rick show from 12/26/87 and its a regular survey. Yeah, during most of the five-year period that R&R only skipped one week instead of two, Rick did a Top 40 of the year. Not sure what he did for 1985, but as we all know, he did a full Top 86 in 1986, and for 1987 and 1988, I know he did a Top 40. Not sure what he did for 1989, since my station had dropped the show by the end of that year, but for some reason, I think he did a Top 40. A little off topic: As a result of both countdowns that used R&R (that I know of) doing a large, two-part countdown in 1986 (John Leader's Countdown USA was the other), as far as I know, R&R's December 19, 1986 chart was never used for any countdowns. So, after hearing the first weekly show of 1987 (Rick Dees only - John Leader did not mention the chart movement that week), one would be able to piece most of the chart together, but could only guess the droppers.

I was listening to the show on and off on WQMA. Near the end of the second hour, Rick teased the highest debut since a song by the Jacksons coming up but when he came back, it skipped ahead to #18. My question is, what Jacksons song was he talking about?

My question is, what Jacksons song was he talking about? Probably "Dancing Machine" (debuted at #14): www2.uta.edu/hunt/charts/Songruns/J/MichaelJackson/dancing_machine.htm
