Reception is wrong...your description of what's on the channel is the same as what's in my copy of the show. Throughout the brief playing of "Freak Me", are the obnoxious clips, which sounds like what was originally aired, as opposed to something later added in. (Although mine isn't an original copy, but it was on Rick's website in either 2013 or 2014...I wasn't aware of any modifications at that point.) While Rick mentions Silk during the "outro" (I quote because it really wasn't an outro), he doesn't mention the title, and then after saying "times have changed", plays a clip of the Beatles' "I Want To Hold Your Hand" again, then the sound jump, and then into UB40's "Can't Help Falling In Love" (which, in turn, doesn't get a proper intro, either).

Interestingly, the last time we got a 2002 show this past May, the Sure Shot was “Love At First Sight.” Six weeks later, it’s a Sure Shot again.

This week on the app:
July 1, 1989 (that's what the caption says; is it really June 24? SS is Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted") June 26, 1993 June 29, 2002

Her birthday coming up was mentioned in the normal weekly top 40 show.

Listened to the 1993 show. Had a few questions: During the “Love Is” song at number 40, there was a technical glitch. You could hear a jingle during the song. Was that in the original? And at the end of show, they played an older 90-92 jingle to end the show. Was that included with the original show? And does anybody know what the song played backwards was? It’s killing me not knowing.lol

I *think* the backwards song was “Conga” by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine.

Yes there was a glitch in "Love Is" and yes it was "Conga."

Sorry I couldn't help with this one. I have both the 6/19 and 7/3 shows, but not 6/26.
Summer 1993...ah, memories. Fresh outta high school.

Bad news: starting this weekend, the 80s and 90s shows on KZOY will be airing Saturday and Sunday mornings from midnight to 4:00 AM CT; his Daily Dees weekday show has also been moved to midnight to 5:00 AM slot*. *That's how I found out about this change; I turned on KZOY about half an hour ago expecting to hear the Daily Dees and heard Throwback Nation instead.

It will certainly stop my KZOY notifications twice every weekend. I am an old man - I sleep from 10pm to 6am daily (central time). Maybe I will look for alternate stations that fit my schedule.
