Bad news: starting this weekend, the 80s and 90s shows on KZOY will be airing Saturday and Sunday mornings from midnight to 4:00 AM CT; his Daily Dees weekday show has also been moved to midnight to 5:00 AM slot*. It doesn't appear to be on at all. It's 12:30 AM Mountain time and 80s Dees is not playing.

I wonder if they went with the June 26, 1993 show because it’s Ariana Grande’s date of birth? Her birthday coming up was mentioned in the normal weekly top 40 show. I strongly doubt it.

It's on right now; the show is from 7/5/1986 and the Sure Shot is The Edge of Heaven.
From searching, the previous airings were in 2010, 2011 and 2019.

KKMK is playing an all request special tonight. I think the date is 07/03/2004. The first song played, which Rick calls #40, is "I'm Ready" by Cherie. I don't think this show has been played before in retro-Dees.

Tuned in for the last hour and the show wasn't on. It sounds like a 4th of July special

Just finished listening to this one (not on the app, obviously)...and there's no less than six different song versions in this show alone. He played: - The album version of "What Comes Naturally" (matches the video, AT40 played the single version).
- The New 7" Straight mix of "Someday" (the one with the horns in the mix rather than a guitar break).
- A Spanglish version of "Rico Suave" (has more Spanish than usual).
- The album version of "Touch Me (All Night Long)" (has a sort of cartoon-y sound heard during the chorus), and it might have had a slightly different arrangement too - again, AT40 played the single version.
- The U.S. single mix of "Joyride" (starts cold rather than with a carnival-like opening).
- The 7" Heart in Motion mix of "Baby Baby".
And I think "Hold You Tight" also had a slightly different arrangement as well (but was otherwise the "typical" version).

1991 was one of those years (the early 1990s were in general) for multiple versions of songs to be played. And some of them were really hard to find, back then. The US Single Mix of "Joyride" was one of them. I finally got it last year, after having the album for 29 years. I can be really picky with song versions.

"Strike It Up" and "Save Some Love" also come to mind. My local station played a version of "Save Some Love" that I never heard on any of the syndicated shows.

Besides being a dance song that would have remixes anyway, "Strike it Up" was also apparently re-recorded with a different rap.
The original version either contains a sample from, or shares a sample with, the dance song "Acid House" by Nelshouse. Being an uncredited sample, though, and being released in the midst of the controversy over Martha Wash's uncredited contributions (actually not affecting the sample, but either situation aggravates the other's being the case), the re-recording was solely to remove that. It's probably also why you can't find the original anywhere online - you can only find the re-recording with the different rap.
Not sure if that's the different version you're referring to here, but that'd be a big reason why you'd run into a different one for that song.
