In the 1995 show, Rick seemed to have forgotten that Men Without Hats had a hit with "Pop Goes The World" in 1988.

In the 1995 show, Rick seemed to have forgotten that Men Without Hats had a hit with "Pop Goes The World" in 1988. He's not the only one. I often see MWH listed as "one hit wonders", and while "The Safety Dance" gets lots of recurrent play, "Pop Goes the World" does not. Though it randomly and annoyingly earwormed itself into my head very recently....

Does anyone know which week it was in 1995 when Rick stopped using the published R&R chart? I’m thinking it’s either June 17 or June 24. Thanks

I enjoyed the April 1995 show very much as well. It definitely had a “mid 80s” feel to it. We got to hear the likes of Human League, Simple Minds, Tom Petty, Van Halen, Gloria Estefan, Elton John, The Eagles (!!!), and of course, Madonna. The 90s changed a lot when 1995 ended. Many of those artists would have either zero hits ahead or very little of them.

KZOY is playing 01/30/88 this morning. The sure shot is "Rocket 2 U" by the Jets. This show last aired in 02/2020 (2 months ago) and this is the 4th time in retro-Dees.

I wish for once Rick would do a show from the spring of 1990. They teased it a little in last weeks show when they played part of Jane Child’s #1 song “Don’t Want to Fall in Love”. It’s time they played a countdown from this period.

App has updated to: April 8, 1989, with Paula Abdul assisting (SS: "This Time I Know It's For Real" by Donna Summer) April 13, 1996 (SS: "Count On Me" by Whitney Houston and Cece Winans) April 14, 2001 (SS: "Lady Marmalade" by Christina Aguilera & Co.)
I think we're seeing proof of the physics principle that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Last year there were virtually no 1989 Dees shows, and this year we're being 1989'ed to death. Though at least they're of course not redundant to the Casey shows...

If that's the case we should be seeing a whole slew of 1990, 1991 and 1998 shows soon. These years are rarely represented in the 90s series now.

Now we need to get them to consider 1990, 1991, 1993 (yes that year has been neglected this year), 1998 (always been neglected) and 2009 (Non-HAC shows) need to be considered.

This Rick Dees radio station retros has been repeating same shows from past months instead of just year to year repeat as it should've. Why are they doing this?
