65. Dont CHA - girl thingycat dolls Seriously now? You'd think that, with today's technology, there would be a censor that could detect the context in which the questionable word is used. For example, if someone posted something like "What a stupid p***y" that would be censored, but if someone was posting something about a song by the Pu$$ycat Dolls or the song "What's New Pu$$ycat", they wouldn't need to censor that, as it's being used in a way that isn't derogatory or offensive.

80s is , according to app says July 13, 1990
90s, according to what app says, is July 08, 1989.
but real dates are :
80s is august 05, 1989 SURE SHOT- CHERISH - MADONNA
90s is august 04, 1990 SURE SHOT- THIEVES IN THE TEMPLE – PRINCE
(which are the same shows aired last year weekend of July 09, 2016)
current CHR and current HAC are the same show:
#1 HITS - SPECIAL
Edit: and once again Bonus Hour show for Special CHR/HAC and D2K is January 17, 2009 HAC, that could mean that 80s and 90s bonus hour shows could be the same of weekend of june 04, 2017.

Those August 1989 and 1990 selections are a bit baffling, considering that they're aired almost a month in advance of their arguably proper place in the year, and that's been done for the last several years now. Despite that, I might listen to them because they are from 1989 (no Casey being replayed) and 1990 (not much of that year from Dees.)

These special #1's are a clone of Jan 7, 2017 except few modified songs.
And no surprise, 80s and 90s are now going back to yearly repeats. Though 90s exception this year before June has repeated from 2014. But other than going back to repeats, I honestly don't even listen to those anymore. I rather listen to the 2000s show. And I wonder they never bothered to finish Pt 2 of Biggest Hits special... and instead playing 2001 show

The intro to the #1 song on the 1990 show is one for the ages IMO. First of all, if the intro was played by itself and I had never heard Rick introduce a Mariah Carey #1 song, I would have said it was for "Emotions" or "Make It Happen" or "Dreamlover". In other words not "Vision of Love". Because the way he says it, you figure she has accumulated a bunch of #1 hits by that point. But indeed this is her first #1 hit. She has already done what so many top female artist did not do. I doubt if he did it, but Rick should have replayed a clip of that for at least one of those later #1 hits to basically say to people, "Ok this is what she accomplished back in 1990 and now here she is 4,5,6...9 #1 hits later, totally rewriting the record books!".

Yeah that's just like Rick not to play part 2 of a special that they played part 1 of the week before. Should have taken the week off and let Britney do this 2001 show by herself. You know I have heard over 2000 shows between Casey, Shadoe, Rick, Seacrest, etc., and this one has to be the record for most concert tours mentioned! And seems like a record for most songs played on a Dees regular show. 4 Britney extras, a sure shot and no skipped songs equals 45 songs. And no obvious edits either!

Is it my imagination or has no 1984 show ever been featured on the 80s edition of WT40? I've been listening almost a year and am pretty sure I've never heard one.

Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40 debuted in September 1983, but no 1983 or 1984 show from him has as of yet been rerun. I think the best reason for this is that for those years he used Cashbox's charts, and doesn't now have the legal rights to rerun shows with Cashbox data. At the beginning of 1985 Rick switched to Radio & Records' charts, and shows with its data are fine for replaying.

Uh, the #1 song..."Shape of You". This has an AT40 Top 50 of the 70s feel to it as far as the rankings. But like that special, they definitely got the #1 song right.
