Lady Saw was also born in Jamaica. Didn't "Underneath It All" hit #1 on Rick Dees' charts? Yes, it did.

Thought of another act born in the Caribbean that hit #1 since then - Nicki Minaj was born in Trinidad & Tobago.

OK KKMK staff responded in email explaining what happened with 2000s show is that there seemed to be download and playback issues on server.. oh well. I hope the app should get fixed with next 2000s show, and KKMK station next time to get it fixed..

Thanks all for telling me of the new Rick Dees app, which I got and registered in from the iPhone app store. The 2000s shows finally offer a new reason to listen, with the 80s and 90s ones mostly repeats for two years now. Though I usually at least make the effort to listen to the 1990s show, for the songs and the fact that we don't currently get Casey or Shadoe countdowns from that decade replayed.

This week's shows are 5/3/86 and 4/30/94. The 1994 show is a first for me. Well over 1000 countdowns heard over the years and this is the first one I have ever heard in which none of the first 3 songs are in the top 40. Played the sure shot and then played the #1 song from a year ago, announced the #40 song, when into the next segment and played "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as a sort of tribute to the recently deceased Kurt Cobain, announced the #39 song and the finally played #38. Those were rap songs that he skipped and he skipped another one in the 30s. IIRC, the two rap songs he skipped were "Born To Roll" by Masta Ace Incorporated (#40) and "Regulate" by Warren G & Nate Dogg (#39). Snoop Dogg (then Snoop Doggy Dogg)'s "Gin and Juice" was at #34 and was also skipped.

I wonder when the app switches to this weekend's shows and if they keep the old shows from last weekend and add the new ones or just replace what's already there?

Everything isn't updating at once, but at rick.com (not at the app yet) they have changed the 90s show to May 8, 1999--not the same show that was played the last couple of years!
Still waiting on the new 1980s and 2000s shows.

Thanks. ๐ Yeah, but top40radioshows for 2000s are not a lot listed, but I can list examples that top40radioshows.com are available full: For the CHR: March 18, 2000, Feb 3, 2001, and May 5, 2001. For the HAC 2000s: August 3, 2002, November 2, 2002, Jan 10, 2004, Feb 7, 2004, Mar 20, 2004, May 1, 2004, Jun 19, 2004, Aug 7, 2004, Sept 18, 2004, Dec 4, 2004 (incomplete list, it starts with #31)....., Feb 5, 2005 reception73.proboards has completed rick dees chr and hac for 2007 until 2017. pulsemusic proboards has early 2005 for hac and chr, and the latter. but before 2005, it's impossible to find. maybe ill post those next time on Sunday when I listened to those. For HAC WT40, they never used mediabase, but started to use Rick Dees own data in early 2004 I think.. but before that was in mediabase HAC. But for CHR 2000s, there was a mediabase and that stopped at early 2005. Last Sunday I did not listen to KKMK at all since I had to study for finals that time. Since now it's done, I'll post those.

Still no update to the app. Also, it make sense for them to use pictures of Prince (80s) and Whitney Houston (90s). But doesn't make that much sense to use Jordan Sparks for the 2000s show. She had a few hits that decade but not many. Beyoncรฉ or Justin Timberlake would've made more sense.

It will take me a while to get them typed in but I should have them done before the countdown is half over.

Last Sunday PM I only listened to the countdown of 04/26/2008 on KKMK from #40 to about #33 since it was a repeat. I had missed the first 40 minutes or so the previous week. Did they start playing some segments from 05/05/2001 later in the countdown?
