I though that this week might be a year end for some year, but it isn't. It's a standard rundown of the top hits from this week in December 1988 (for which there is no Casey countdown.)
Next week: January 1986. (No duplication with Premiere, since they'll be playing the top 50 of 1983.)

An astute observation made on another message board (OK, it was Pulse )...this past week's show, 12/31/88, is the exact same as the first one for 2011, 1/7/89, so XM began and ended the year with the exact same chart. How about that?

Considering that 1/7 show followed a different December 1988 chart that had aired just a few weeks prior, I'm doubting that they did.

Next week's not AT40, let's hope they actually use a chart from this year; 1981 Next week's 80s AT40 might also be 1981.

Next week's Casey lite; 1984 For this week, they appear to have gone back to Billboard, using the 1/14/84 chart. Yes, that's the exact same songs in the same order as we heard Casey play last week.

I suspect this is because the Cashbox website is under construction, and the charts aren't readily available. (Though I know how to find them, but I don't suppose the 80's on 8 staff intends to ask me. ;D)

Next week's Casey's lite or (not) AT40 are the 40 biggest hits during this week the year back in 1980! Note: Revised I do apologize for the error and confusion.

That could possibly be next week's show on Premiere.
(I've said that before and have been wrong every time, but I think this time I'll be right.)

Turkeys Of The 80's? So is that goofy songs? Songs that you'd think would be big but weren't? (Big artist, low charting hit) Worst songs. I think you can cast your vote on the SXM website. Lasvegaskid, is there a site where I can find this Turkeys of the '80s countdown? I just want to know what the songs were.

Here is the "Turkeys" list. This was supposedly compiled by people voting on their website. So I guess it was up to each individual to decide what a "turkey" was. A number of fairly decent songs on this list.
40 Toto Coelo - I Eat Cannibals 39 Skid Row - 18 and Life 38 Men Without Hats - Pop Goes the World 37 Bob & Doug McKenzie - Take Off 36 Starship - We Built This City 35 A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran (So Far Away) 34 Bertie Higgins - Key Largo 33 Paul Hardcastle - 19 32 Rebe Jackson - Centipede 31 The Vapors - Turning Japanese 30 Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up 29 Air Supply - Making Love Out of Nothing at All 28 Olivia Newton-John & ELO - Xanadu 27 Frank and Moon Unit Zappa - Valley Girl 26 Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus 25 Diesel - Sausalito Summernight 24 Eddie Murphy - Party All the Time 23 The Bangles - Walk Like an Egyptian 22 Poison - Talk Dirty to Me 21 Murray Head - One Night in Bangkok 20 The Oak Ridge Boys - Elvira 19 Lindsey Buckingham - Holiday Road 18 Bow Wow Wow - I Want Candy 17 Buckner & Garcia - Pac-Man Fever 16 Oran "Juice" Jones - The Rain 15 Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy 14 Toni Basil - Mickey 13 Boys Don't Cry - I Wanna Be a Cowboy 12 Charlene - I've Never Been to Me 11 Ray Parker, Jr. - Ghostbusters 10 Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton - Islands in the Stream 09 Milli Vanilli - Blame It on the Rain 08 Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew - The Super Bowl Shuffle 07 Europe - The Final Countdown 06 Pseudo Echo - Funkytown 05 Andy Taylor - Take It Easy 04 Baltimora - Tarzan Boy 03 Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder - Ebony and Ivory 02 Great White - Once Bitten Twice Shy 01 Taco - Puttin' on the Ritz

Until seeing it on the Turkey's list, I'd never heard of Toto Coelo. I don't even remember hearing his song on AT40--must've been quite a few people who didn't care for that song and got together and pooled their votes.

Toto Coelo (known as Total Coelo in the US, to avoid confusion/legal tangles with Toto), was a 5-member British girl group whose single "I Eat Cannibals" peaked at #66 on the Hot 100 in 1983, so thus never made AT40. It's remembered as one of those cheesily appealing songs/videos popular on early MTV.

Next week's Casey lite, what chart will they use? 1987 If they use BB again, it could be an exact duplicate of this weekend's Premiere! That's what it appears to be. Seven songs in and everything matches Billboard's 2/21/87 chart.
