April 15, 1987?
April 15, 1987 would not be a chart date.

That's how 80's on 8 announces their retro shows. Using the Friday date - the day they are first airing the show. Will most likely be the 4/18/87 chart date ... but we will have to wait and see...

I'll just type in the year instead of a specific date like lasvegaskid types them. Retrospect, I suppose it's fairly obvious which weekend it will be anyway. Side note: This Big 40 from 1983 will be similar to the AT40 version from Premier airing 1983 next weekend on AM / FM radio.

Wouldn't it be great if the VJs "took the week off" and had special guest host; Casey Kasem!! Next week's not AT40; 1988 That would be great, though you can effectively do that next week by skipping the SXM show, as Premiere's AT40 will also be 1988. I'm predicting 1980 next, since they went 1987/83/88/80 a couple of months ago, with no years repeated in between. Hopefully if they do Premiere won't also play 1980, especially as they just played that year last week.

Oh joy, Premiere and Casey lite match each other for the 2nd weekend in a role. No, actually it's the third such week in a row; both have simultaneously played 1983, 1988, and 1985. I hope SXM does 1989 next; at least Premiere won't replicate that!

They may opt to do 5/4 instead of 5/11 like Premiere's doing; at least then they won't be exact.

is it normal that Rick Dees used to play the radio & records charts of the week before on his 80's shows ?
I have heard the shows of may 1986 and each time , the date of the show and the date of the charts are not matching .
I have checked with the R & R database you are mentionning.
Strange , no ?

I think Dees might have used Cashbox for awhile. Anyway, too bad nobody is posting these not-AT40 shows anymore.

Next week's Casey lite; 1981 Which probably does mean the same year, and week, as Premiere's Casey AT40, though likely with a slightly different chart (usually Cashbox lately).

I wonder on the first week of August they have a countdown from '81? Because that week a certain channel of theirs is turning 30 this year.

It feels kinda strange listening to not AT40 & hearing most of the same songs that were played a couple hours ago on the real thing! Takes me back to 1981 the first time when I listened to AT40 and turned the dial to the Dick Clark's National Music Survey after it was over! Most, but not all. Some of the AT40 hits being played this week weren't there ("Queen of Hearts" "The Stroke"). OTOH, the SXM show also included Cliff Richard's "Give a Little Bit More", which never made AT40.

Tough week for Martha. She said the countdown was from 1987, and then Sailing was from Arthur at least twice!
