I don't know why but it's starting to bug me how they don't play a number jingle or even anything before a song that starts cold.

It has, in 2017, which is a slight pity as April 12 has not (and would be guaranteed to not be duplicated as Dave Roberts hosted that week's AT40). Casey had some odd guest hosts sometimes - we all know Charlie Tuna and some others...who is Dave Roberts?!!? I don't think Charlie Tuna ever guest hosted a full episode of AT40 or CT40, though he did other announcements for Casey including on "America's Top 10" on TV. Maybe you confused him with Charlie Van Dyke, who hosted 31 AT40s in the 1980s and became almost as familiar to listeners as Casey?

Looks like it's 4/18 to be exact, which I don't think has ever been done yet.

That's the good news. The bad news is that it's a near-certainty that the week after will not be. (The only "new" candidates would be 1983 and 1987, for which it is too soon for either one to come back.) Odds are, that week will land on 1988 - guess when that was last done?

On the bright side, we would get April 1988 again for the first time in a while, even if it were yet another 5-year-old repeat.

Thanks for the clarification. Was Charlie Van Dyke related to Dick and Jerry?

Was Charlie Van Dyke related to Dick and Jerry? No - that's something we'd probably have long known by now if so. No - upon checking, Charlie was actually born Charles Leo Steinle, whereas for Dick and Jerry, Van Dyke is actually their real name.

So far in April, the shows from Premiere have been 1984-1981-1986, while the VJs are giving us 1984-1986-1981. I know it's not deliberate, but some variety would be nice.

They went with 4/11?
So not only did they go with the date that was further from today but they're repeating Premiere's show from last week.

I guess that's bound to happen when you have a year where it can be either one or the other. At least the next two years that haven't been done the longest don't fall in that category.

But hey...we get an encore presentation of Andy Gibb's last top 40 hit, in its only week on! Meanwhile, speaking of in house SXM countdowns, this weekend there's a "100 Super Hits of 1977" special on 70s on 7. (Listener voted? I've only heard a few songs from it and it isn't using Billboard.) Casey is still on tap in his regular timeslots; at least that won't be from 1977 as their AT40 was from that year last week.
