Can someone explain to me why 1992 has been featured every month since May on the BITDR?

1983 will be a repeat from six years ago, which isn't so bad. The previous 1983 airing was a repeat from three years ago by comparison. Looking again at the September predictions, I think I'd prefer if 1980 and 1989 were swapped. Both will be repeat charts either way, but playing 1989 first gives us fresher content for both years. Can someone explain to me why 1992 has been featured every month since May on the BITDR? I noticed this too. Their selection process is as random as it gets. I only hope they skip next month as September 1992 is one of their most overplayed time frames.

True, but the thing is 1990 and 1993 haven't been played in months, like I mentioned earlier. I have a soft spot for 1990 with it being my birth year and all.
And yes I can see 1980 and 1989 being switched around. At least they have put a great effort in choosing the show dates for a while.
As for my predictions, I'm thinking:
9/4/20: 9/2/89 9/11/20: 9/13/80 9/18/20: 9/15/84 9/25/20: 9/26/81
There could be a possibility of a special for Labor Day weekend, pushing everything down, but I'm hoping not because that will just leave three shows from September. This could also mean that October might kick off with a rare 1987 show.

September 1989 is seldom (never?) played and would be nice to hear; at least we aren't getting 8/26/89 for the umpteenth time. Then they can revisit that year in November and/or December.
September 1981 has been overdone (usually 9/19/81), but by late September that year will likely be due anyway. I'd also be fine with them holding out on 1987 until early October. The first of these shows I remember hearing was of October 10, 1987 broadcast in 2009 (after they stopped playing Casey's 80s AT40s), but since then 1987 has seemingly constantly landed in September.

Not to be nitpicky, but it's actually the 8/19/89 chart that's been played to death. 8/26 has never been played. Still, it'll be nice to hear a September chart for a change. I wish it could be the second half of the month but that looks unlikely.
Also agree it will be great if they can make it through September without playing 1987. We've only had one year out of the past eight where that month was not played.
I happen to be a big fan of 1990 as well, largely because 1988-1990 were the height of my Top 40 obsession. Most people consider that era very weak, but not me.

I advised SiriusXM Listener Care of this problem on August 15 and received their interim reply. I am looking forward to the solution hopefully by the next week's broadcast of the 1983 show. The problem of big noise constantly generated only during Mark Goodman is speaking has almost been fixed in this week's 1983 show!

The problem of big noise constantly generated only during Mark Goodman is speaking has almost been fixed in this week's 1983 show! Are you going to keep doing that? Why do I have a feeling whoever did the writing for this week was looking at the Cashbox chart or something instead of the BB one? There have been several chart movement screw-ups tonight. Either that or they were looking at the wrong date?

Though I wish 1989 were next week instead of 1980, considering it was just done three years ago, after tonight, I just don't care. The VJs are going to keep screwing things up and not even care.

Next week should be 9/6/80, a chart that we don't get from Premiere since that AT40 was guest hosted. Of course we get most of the same songs from Casey this weekend so it's mainly an encore if you liked this week's Premiere show.

No Night So Long DIONNE WARWICK
Look What You've Done To Me BOZ SCAGGS
Real Love DOOBIE BROTHERS
Yep, only 3 new songs between this week's Casey and next weeks Big 40...
And they are spots 38, 39 and 40

Also two months ago we had "Into The Night" on the 7/1/89 chart during its second run there and next weekend we'll hear it again in its first run.

9/6/80 was played two years ago, but as long as they keep playing the years in the same sequence we should get fairly fresh charts for at least the next few weeks. I just noticed that, despite the progress with chart selection lately, there hasn't been a new 1983 chart in a year. And if they go exactly ten weeks, the next one will be a repeat as well.
Meanwhile, over on 90s on 9, we get August 1999 for the sixth time. Worse, only two charts from that month have ever been played (three times apiece).

Yeah it's strange that 1983 is the only year that hasn't had a new chart this year. All the other years had at least one new chart featured. I wonder what would be the ideal schedule for 2021 where all of the charts are either new or haven't been featured in a good 6-8 years.

I'd be more than happy to write up the schedule myself, not to mention do the fact-checking for the VJs. And I'd do it for free. SiriusXM would save a ton of money and get a better quality product in the process. (Hey, I'm entitled to a fantasy now and then.)

I bet we all love to fact-check their scripts for free. And to make sure they're not using the next week's chart movements so we won't be all confused like this past week.
With Labor Day weekend this weekend, they're replaying a bunch of home DJ shows, so it looks like there won't be a special countdown. Wonder if they'll play it Friday morning like they did for the July 4th weekend.
