I am glad they play this one version of Falco’s “Rock Me Amadeus” on the show. I am tired of hearing and don’t like the narrative version of the song on AT40. Also have a question: We saw 3 songs from the “Rocky 4” movie in this countdown. Would March 1986 be the last time we see 3 or more songs from a movie soundtrack appear in the 40 up to present?

Next week it'll be all about 1983! So it's safe to assume 1982 will be during the second week of March. Also 90s on 9 went with 1995 today. I'm not sure it's safe to assume anything with these guys. Even though 1982 should be up next after 1983, would it shock you to see a repeated year first (1989?) When all is said and done (pun intended) we will hear 1982 either on March 13 or March 20 at the latest I would think.

With the way they've sort have been avoiding 1982, it wouldn't surprise me if that happened either. From what I gathered, 90s on 9 and Pop2K have done 1996 and 2009 respectively twice already this year. If we were to get 1989, at least it's not 3/25!

Next week it'll be all about 1983! Another chart that's been featured within the past three years.

Next week it'll be all about 1981! So no repeat of 3/13/82 at least. Has March 1981 been covered that often?
That being said, why is the way still so long for '82?

It's pretty rare that they follow up one year with the next. 1982 could go 23 weeks without being played. Almost half of a year!

It's been five years since we heard a March 1981 chart, and six years since this particular week's chart, so that's all good. I'm very much hoping for 1989 the following week. If they put 1989 off an additional week, we'll get the 3/25 chart for the fifth time. As for 1982, the last week of March would be "new," while the first week of April would be a four-time repeat.

Next week it'll be all about 1982! The drought finally ends!
That being said, I hope this doesn't mean we'll get 3/25/89 again.

The 1982 completes all ten years of the 80's this year. 1981 was the first year repeated in 2020. Earlier this year, 1989 did in fact follow 1981, so it might be featured on 3-26-20.
Question: do they make the same mistakes when they repeat a year of the very same show, or are the errors brought to their attention?

Nina Blackwood has announced the Peabo Bryson hit "If you're ever in my arms again" incorrectly for five years straight.

I for one hope that 1985 will be featured on 3/26. With that they can escape two possible recent chart repeats (3/28/87 and 3/25/89).

That being said, I hope this doesn't mean we'll get 3/25/89 again. I've already mentally penciled this in for next weekend. I'll be blown away if it's anything else. Question: do they make the same mistakes when they repeat a year of the very same show, or are the errors brought to their attention? Each show is newly scripted, so while the songs are the same, the stories tend to be new. I've seen countless facebook posts addressing the factual errors, but nobody from SiriusXM ever responds to them. I'm a bit surprised that we're getting 81-82-83 in consecutive weeks. That's pretty rare.

I did a little research and it seems John Cougar Mellencamp was the only artist to have a single in the Top 40 every year in the 80's. Any other suggestions? And no not Billy Joel, Pat Benatar, Elton John, Paul McCartney, etc...
