The Weekly Top 40 show for this week is the 1st show of April 1999.

I'm looking for a certain Dees show from the summer of 1997. The two things I remember about that one were someone talking about the story behind "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" and, later in the show, the story about the hospital cleaning lady who unplugged a patient's life support system to use her floor cleaner. Anyone remember that one? I have a piece of that show on tape and, based on some of the songs, it sounds like a show from July or August, 1997. If anyone knows the exact date of that one, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Never mind, it was the July 5 show, the very one I'm listening to right now. The beginning of that show started out with the classical music parody, "Rick Dees is on the air, he is beyond compare...", and then the part about Tom Hanks talking about "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" (the #1 song the week he was born) was on the other side of the tape. For some reason, I thought maybe I'd taped part of a different show, but I did not.

This show was aired on XM last year. Apparently I recorded it.

That's apparently why it's available on the website that streams a few shows.
One reason I thought that I had different shows on the tape is because included was Rick playing a drop-piece of the original version of "More Than This" by Roxy Music, which was absent from this show. In fact, the 10,000 Maniacs version was the Sure Shot that week. Of course, the station I listened to played the Hot AC version of the show, so that was perhaps played as an extra in place of a "non-Hot AC" song, because back then, their idea of a Hot AC chart was the Pop chart with holes poked in it.

Last week 90s on 9 ran 5/23/92--only the second Dees countdown we've heard so far this year that predates 1994.
Before that we got 5/17/97, 5/11/96, 4/30/94, 4/26/97, 4/18/98, and 4/9/94. (yep, I've been writing them down week by week, but kept forgetting to post them here.)

Did WT40 90's addition air today, or did it get a new time as well?

I tuned in at 11 am central time this morning, but WT40 wasn't on. Interestingly, I emailed XM listener care and they responded that the show was on at its regular time. Either they are lying or I'm going to have to have my hearing checked.

Either they are lying or I'm going to have to have my hearing checked. Make that two of us then, that needs their hearing checked. I listed I know until 12:00 or 12:30, and it still wasn't on. Hmmmm.... OK, thanks for the information!

I set my radio to record RDWT40 at 12 noon (eastern time) yesterday, and at 4 PM I found that it wasn't on. I just checked the schedule and for next week it still has Rick listed for the 12-4 PM Sunday bloc. Hopefully XM wasn't lying yesterday and they just made a mistake that Listener Care wasn't aware of, but I don't know with them.

It does appear Rick is now totally gone from XM. After noon now an still no Rick. Possibly moved to early morning? probably not.

They probably were able to get rid of WT40 because they had a one year contract that expired. They started airing WT40 last year the first weekend in June. They took it off the first weekend in June this year.
My biggest fear is they plan on taking AT40 off Big 80's and 90's on 9 in August when that contract runs out. Let's get some emails going to Sirius. Not saying that it will help.

In a Twitter between Rick & Spyder Harrison (Ray Dio) last week, it was confirmed that the show was cancelled. Spyder does XM/Sirius weekly Top 45 countdown on Hits 1. Basically, Spyder said he didn't understand the decision.

Well, there goes much of my reason for listening to 90s on 9, at least for now. And if they drop Casey from 7 and 8 then there won't be nearly as much of interest there, since they seem to largely stick to hits that are already familiar to me, with only the occasional "discovery" of something I don't know.
BTW, somebody at 90s on 9 should get a calendar as well as a clue. Since when do U2's "Beautiful Day" (released in fall 2000) and LFO's "Every Other Time" (summer 2001) count as 90s hits?
