This week's (1/12-13/08) edition of "Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 80s" will feature a rebroadcast of the show from January 10, 1981. There it is! I thought that they would play this show LAST weekend!!

We know that this weekend's (12/29-30) edition of "AT40: The 80's" will feature part 2 of The Top 100 of 1984, while the "AT40: The 70's" will feature part 2 of The Top 100 of 1978. Does anyone already know what will be the feature of those programs for the first weekend of the New Year (1/5-6)? Will either of them be a special program or regular weekly countdown? If it is a weekly show, it would almost have to be the 1/10/81 show because every other show that begins the year was guest hosted. Unless, they decide to play the Top 50 songs of the 70's special.

My guess is that it will be a regular show. Don't know for sure though.

I wonder if this week's show will be the one from 1980 I believe it is the John Lennon tribute show this weekend with the replacement disc.

Geez, they seem to be using a lot of shows that were originally used as Flashback shows!

Didn't they do that twice? I was thinking that one was Elvis, and the other was Ray Charles. I could be wrong though. ;D

Assuming Scott's unavailable this week, I'll add some good news. And hold on, Mark........for 80s terrestrial stations this weekend (August 11 & 12, 2007), look for the program from August 6, 1988. That's what the promos say! Thanks Pete! I did get to hear some of that on Sunday morning. There's still nothing like hearing AT40 on radio. ;D

Next weekend's (6/30 - 7/1/07) edition of "AT40: The 80s" features the show from 6/28/86. 1988? Wasn't there a show called "Shadoe's Top 40" on the air in 1988? What is next week's show going to be? I will actually get to hear it all on Sunday morning at my work. ;D

You can add Cool 105.7 KOKZ to the list of stations carrying AT40: The 80's. ;D This was the same station that carried it when I was growing up. They play it from 8am-noon on Sundays. They also play the 70's show from 9am-noon on Saturdays.

Next weekend's (5/12-13) edition of "AT40: The 80s" will feature the show from 5/10/80. Yes, 1980! Guess that answers the question of will Premiere run the 1980-1981 shows. ;D

The questions I have at this point are this: In 2008, we have not heard any shows from either 1977 or 1979. I understand that the 1979 shows are all four hours long, although that shouldn't really be an issue since Premiere Radio Networks (I think I have that right) has already aired one four-hour era show (the Oct. 14, 1978 AT40). The lack of 1977 broadcasts, I don't quite understand as of yet. Thanks for the opportunity to post of this board. Hopefully they will play the 5/7/77 show when one of the greatest songs ever written, "Hotel California" went to #1.
