As long he continues to do what he does, I could sense him getting more awards for longevity purposes.
Anyway, now hearing June 29, 1996 for this week and hopefully it won't be two consecutive weeks of 1996 like it was in April, and that they don't cut off the closing for the chart week ending like last week.
Meanwhile, the May 8, 2004 show that was the second week of the rewind shows is now an aircheck on Youtube, including the missing first hour. It is now about two years and counting since they last aired a post 2001 show (and they are on CD, so I don't know why we're still waiting for 2002-05 shows to be played again).
Hopefully next week we will see a 1990 show or at least a 1990 show within the month of July.

I may be speculating on show selection, but maybe the 1990s are the peak timeframe of subscribing stations, with some 2000-2001 shows sprinkled in. The mid-90s, especially, with the fragmenting of CHR, brought some pop fans over to country. I wasn't one of them; however, I did have limited exposure, especially in the late 90s. Again, purely speculation. As a fan of the series, I'd love to see a wider timeframe. Some may say the early 2000s, country was more pop-sounding, like around 2002. But I have very little knowledge on the subject; just going off of memory of things I've read.
We're going on almost two full years now since a show post-2001 has been featured.

Not sure if it was Cumulus, but I heard an edited version of 'If I were you', by Terri Clark, for the 6-29-96 show.

Just saw a post regarding ACC being issued on CD for the first time - 6/16/1990. So it appears until the other 1990 shows prior to that date are converted and remastered, this is the earliest possible show to air in the series. American Country Countdown Specials

This week's 6/29/1996 show features the closing running all the way through, full credits included. Just the way it should be, IMO. Also have noticed of late that "rewind" sound bit is being incorporated a bit more throughout the shows, as well as new ACC Rewind jingles to open segments throughout the hour (top-of-hour remains the same). 1990 and 2000 haven't had any July shows air yet in the series, so those will be my prediction and back-up prediction for the weekend of 7/7. Visit page 38 for a list of shows that have aired in the series. I'll also get a chronological list put together. Many thanks to mellongraig for the show updates throughout this thread.

This week's show, as predicted, is from July 7, 1990. Finally a 1990 show gets aired this year (and the first July 1990 show), now if this year they also feature a November 1990 show later in the year, 1990 will have a show from every month aired (since converting to CD that does not include the convert/remaster from months prior).

Catching the looped broadcast of this week's ACC Rewind on CT40.com. Once again, the closing gets cut off right after Bob mentions the chart date...at least they left that in.

At least it was better than cutting it off completely like some of the other shows, but not like the aircheck from February 20, 1982 (when it was still 3 hours) posted a few days ago.
Meanwhile, July 18, 1992 is the rewind show feature for this week, about a month after the start of the new music maker segment. This is the first time in a long while that they have gone ahead by more than a few days chart wise in sync.

Not sure, but I think 'Take it like a man' and 'Boot scootin' boogie', might've been edited.

Yep. ACC rewind cut off the closin' credits for the 7-18-92 show. Not nice!

It's always better to leave the closing credits for the chart week ending fully intact rather than cutting it out. Hopefully they will do it this week for the July 22, 2000 show that they are rewinding to this week.

The aircheck feature this week is from March 9, 1996 even though the video picture has May 9 rather than March 9. Could be a future rewind show...
Meanwhile, two weeks in a row on the 2000s as July 28, 2001 is featured this week on the rewind show. I have noticed they changed the look of the charts on Billboard again where prior to this year it now shows the whole 75 and prior to 1990 it shows 100. Hopefully they will keep it as a permanent change...

ACC rewwind did it again, where they cut off the closin' credits. I'd rather hear more of Bob Kingsley, than the inserts from the woman voiceover.

I agree, they should be like Premiere where he gives all the information (maybe the sponsors and copyright info can be cut off) and then let the closing theme run through or end at the discretion of some affiliates.

I may be speculating on show selection, but maybe the 1990s are the peak timeframe of subscribing stations, with some 2000-2001 shows sprinkled in. The mid-90s, especially, with the fragmenting of CHR, brought some pop fans over to country. I think this explanation makes the most sense. When it comes to "oldies" at most country stations, the peak area seems to be late 1970s through the end of the 1990s, with the focus really being on 1986-1999. While you'll get a one-hit wonder or two and a few obscurities, most of the songs on 1990s-era ACCs are familiar enough to fans to make listeners of subscribing stations want to tune in, and that includes the oldies they play. Really, I've not heard too many post-2001 or so songs in these "oldies" programs, and once you're getting to 2005, that's a bit too current for those who want something, well, older. And if it's a pre-late 1970s song they play, usually the artist is synonymous enough with country music that listeners will stay tuned in. For instance, Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves. (Which, as you've seen through my history of posting, is too bad since there are a lot of great old country songs that rarely if ever get played these days -- one exception is KWMT-AM of Fort Dodge, Iowa (they do live stream) -- but that's neither here nor there. As far as ACC goes, 1990s seems to be the peak time right now.) Brian
