They really are trying to avoid repeats and this week they are going back to May 20, 1995, another new show.

Weird, might be a Cumulus/Westwood One thing there...
Anyway, this week for Memorial Day weekend, they are going back to May 23, 1998. I wonder if any new stations will sign on to air the show? Would be nice if they can expand it worldwide...
And as a bonus that was posted yesterday, here is an aircheck from October 19, 1985, before they went to 4 hours the following year.

May 29, 1993 is what they are rewinding to this weekend even though we are into June now.

They changed the streaming site on the CT40 website (and all Cumulus owned stations) but it still doesn't work outside the US and/or those with ad-blocker detection. Maybe if they could put each of them on the TuneGenie sites it can be bypassed...

Here is an early Kingsley aircheck from the 70s from September 15, 1979 that went up a few days ago:
Meanwhile, this week's rewind show is from June 7, 1997 where the #1 hit turned out to be the biggest of the year. I still wish we could hear #31-#40 again (1st hour) but at least the airchecks allow the intro/outro and snippet of the song.

They are going back to June 15, 1991 this weekend (just after the archives changed to #1 A-Z format) and they seem to be avoiding repeats at this time. Still waiting for a 1990 show or a 2002-05 show sometime in the future, given 1990 hasn't aired since last December...

I think I can explain 1990 - ACC didn't go to CD until June 1990 sometime, so anything before that would need to be converted, and then remastered. So basically 1990 isn't in play for much of the first half of the year until that process is completed. We did get 6/23/1990 already (and 6/30), which might be the earliest shows we'll get in the series.

There are scoped airchecks prior to June 1990 that are on Youtube though and more are likely to come soon. Here is a rare instance of the cue sheet for this week's rewind show which is now on replay for the CT40 website (I wished there could be more available for the 90s as there are many from the 70s and some from the 80s): charismusicgroup.com/ACC%20Cue%20Sheets/06-15-91.pdf

Those may be due to conversions somebody else did from their own personal collection. While many from the 70s and early 80s are likely done (which is a good chunk of what I've seen), as well as a few other random ones, they all aren't ready quite yet...which includes the first few months of 1990. I have all the year-end shows, and 1989 was obviously a vinyl remaster, whereas 1990 was CD quality. The difference in sound quality is obvious, to me anyway. So it was sometime in 1990 that ACC went to CD format (AT40 went to CD in July 1989). BTW, the same jingles you hear on the 1990 shows started sometime in 1989, as they were heard on that year's top 100 countdown. I do believe several of the weekly shows prior to June 1990 still need to be converted and remastered. Anything from June 1990 onward won't need any of that.
And I'm with you on the cue sheets; hopefully soon several more will surface.

Yeah, hopefully the cue sheets will fill up soon and that the shows prior to June 1990 can get remastered in the future. Anyway, they are going back to June 25, 1994 this weekend where there is an aircheck of it on Youtube (including the missing first hour on there). I think the earliest 1990 could air for new shows (unless if they decide to do repeats) this year is 7/7/90, so I would say it could possibly air on the weekend of July 7-8. WOGT started the show a few minutes early today.
Speaking of airchecks, there is a scoped one from November 17, 1990 now up (which was converted to CD by this time and includes commercials, so it could be rerun later this year).

If it's been mentioned before, my apologies. Been expanding my ACC collection, and found that the very first jingle change occurred in the 7/22/1978 show. The original fiddle jingle, often tied to the original host, Don Bowman, was still used to close out the hour, but the new jingle was used to open the show, and for opening hours 2 and 3 also.
That original jingle was used up through the 1981 year-end, possibly into 1982, which by year's end would have a new jingle to open the show, which was a re-working of the 1978 jingle. Those jingles would change again by 1984.

Just updated the shows aired so far in the series, which is on page 38 in this thread. Still have several months of years which hasn't had a single show aired yet, with July 1990 being one of them. It's possible we may get one of them this year. Hopefully no repeats for quite a while, which I don't anticipate - much of the decade, with exception of the first few months, is on CD; so no remastering would really be needed for broadcast; much unlike the AT40 series from the 70s and 80s. I can only imagine how tedious the remastering process is; Shannon Lynn and the folks at Premiere have done a phenomenal job with those shows.

Bob is 76. A year younger than when Casey left his shows, but as we have now learned, Casey was likely already quite ill in July 2009. Bob sounds much better at 76 than Casey did. That said, Bob could retire any time he wants, but I get the impression he enjoys what he did, and he is much more connected and involved with the music than Casey ever was. I hope he goes on a while as he truly is the last of an era. Maybe he goes to 2018 which gives him 40 years? I hope so! And he has. I have enjoyed country music and ACC, much moreso lately, in large part due to Bob. I can hear the passion in his voice throughout every show, even in his current CT40 episodes. He really enjoys what he's doing.
