I think that show started after 11. The first 2 songs were clipped. Yeah, after a brief station identification, they joined the show already in progress - right at the bridge of the En Vogue song (when they repeat "never gonna get it never gonna get it" over and over again). Even though I had to get up somewhat early today, I actually stayed up until 2:00 (CST) last night to catch the show, since I had no idea when the show would air on Monday night or what other stations are running it.

I'm grabbing this show, if anyone is interested. I'm interested. Out of morbid curiosity, if for any reason.

I managed to record the entire show, except for the clipped part, which I hope they will play during the rebroadcast Monday. I'll be recording from 7pm on. If anyone's interested let me know.
The station sound quality is marginal, curious if anyone has the original from CD in which they may want to share?

WKIX 102.9 in Raleigh doesn't broadcast online, but here is what they are airing Monday 5 AM Top 10's from 85 to 80(their error so I don't know if they mean 80 to 85 or 85 to 90). 11 AM - 3 hour special Biggest hits of the 70s . 2 PM - 6 hour special Top 100 songs of 1978

Loved listening to the WJER broadcast of the top 38 of the 90s. My favorite part was the comical omission of 'Missing', played as an extra but should have been in the countdown if the list were compiled correctly

Out of curiosity has anyone been able to successfully record the '90s countdown in full (and include all the extras)?

Reelradio.com has some special Labor Day weekend programming, including two AT40 shows:
American Top 40 Book of Records KHJ Big 93 of 1972 American Top 40 Artists, 1967-1972
This site is subscription-based, but it's well worth the price IMHO. I'm really enjoying the KHJ countdown right now since the year 1972 doesn't seem to get much love from Premiere Networks.

So, are any other stations (with live stream, that is) doing any countdowns today (other than WJER)?

I could not agree more about reelradio.com -- amazing content for any fan of Top 40 radio, and only $12 per year. Airchecks, variously scoped and complete, from just about every icon of classic Top 40 radio you can think of.

WJER is playing the same songlist as they did Friday night leading up to the airing of the Top 40 of the 1990s show.
I wonder if we get a total repeat of Friday night? How can the station not have the ability to play all 40 of the songs from the beginning? Who else listens to radio today but us 40-year-olds and older?

Halle-flippin-lujah!
I got the beginning of the special show.
Finally. The quest is over.
So dramatic, huh? LOL

My theory (and it's just that, a theory): WJER broadcast an Indians game before right before AT40, as you know. Those of us who listen online got "hold music" during that game, since WJER doesn't have the rights to stream MLB games. At some point, some human has to switch off that "hold music," once the game is over. What if WJER aired the full countdown on Friday on its terrestrial station (1450 AM).... but whoever's supposed to switch off the "hold music" and switch back on the simulcast simply forgot to do so? Or maybe had a technical problem? AT40 was playing for radio listeners for a few minutes...and then someone remembered to flip the switch that lets those of us online hear the same feed as those listening via radio. To me, this makes the most sense: There's no reason WJER would join AT40 in progress, since it's not like their overnight music is on any set schedule and they needed AT40 to be off by a certain time. TV stations sometimes join "in progress" because they don't want to mess up the rest of their lineup. I don't think that was the case here. But, again: Just a theory. BTW: Long-time reader of this board, first-time commenter.

I think that makes perfect since. I am a board operator at an undisclosed station that plays sports and I can see that happening. Love At40 with Casey Kasem by the way. Loving this countdown brings back all the memories of college years from the mid to late 90s. Also a long time reader and first time poster.
