So we'll be getting a new chart regardless of whether they go with 4/2 or 4/9.

It will definitely be 4-9-88, but they will call it 4-8-88.

It will definitely be 4-9-88, but they will call it 4-8-88. I don't know about that. They have been announcing the correct date over the past few weeks or so. For example, this week Nina did say "March 28, 1981" in her intro.

They do like to keep us guessing!

By going with 4/9/88, they've set themselves up for a good rest of the year for 1988 shows. Lets see how they screw it up...
If they stick to a ten-week rotation (which is questionable), we'd get additional "new" charts in June and August. They could then wait eleven weeks to give us another new one in November.
Or they could, you know, play two 1988 shows within three weeks and botch the whole thing. Which is more likely?

it's actually pretty crazy that even though there's not a whole lot of 1981 charts they haven't done yet left, they still managed to choose another new date.

It is amazing when they actually do something right--considering the mistakes they are infamous for.

They are going with 4/2, with Alan saying the correct date.

Next week it'll be all about 1986!

Likely April 12, 1986. I don't know when if ever SXM 8 last played that week, but Premiere never has as that AT40 was guest hosted.

They are going with 4/2, with Alan saying the correct date. Wait, you mean they *are* capable of playing a chart from an earlier calendar date than today? Could somebody go back in time two weeks and tell them so? This means that we've now had three consecutive shows whose chart dates fall within six days of one another (two from 3/28 and one from 4/2). I have to believe this is a first. Likely April 12, 1986. I don't know when if ever SXM 8 last played that week, but Premiere never has as that AT40 was guest hosted. Neither of 4/12/86 and 4/19/86 have ever been played, so we're set up nicely whichever one they choose. Also, the second half of June 1986 is completely untouched so if they get back on a ten-week rotation, that could be good as well. Another thing I noticed. The five-week stretch up to and including next week featured no shows from 1982-1985. Usually they mix up the years better than that, although I'm certainly not complaining given recent selections.

Look how long we had to wait for 1988, so anyone's guess. Was it mentioned that there is a new PD?

It appears that 4/16 and 4/23 have never been featured before, so even with the year shake-up, we're still getting another new chart regardless as it could go either way.
