giannirubino, not to put more on you but mentioning Sheriff in a previous post has me now thinking about another big 2 hit wonder: Alias

Great call with Murray Head too. Among the more intriguing two-hit wonders in that both of his hits were quirky songs from musicals, and they hit 14 years apart from each other. Wondering if that's a record for a two-hit wonder as far as length of time between hits? We answered this a long time ago and I think I figured out that from the AT era (1970 - ) Murray Head not only would hold the record for longest time between his two only hits, he would hold the record for any artist since 1970 for time between their first and second hit. Enya was 12 years or so, Daft Punk was 12 years or so, and Vonda Shephard was 11 years or so. Aaron Neville was 20 + years, however "Tell It Like It Is" was a hit before AT 40. I forgot about Aaron Neville -- if you count just his solo hits, it was almost 25 years between "Tell It Like It Is" and "Everybody Plays the Fool", a record that has to be close to unbreakable. If you count his duet with Linda Ronstadt ("Don't Know Much"), it would be just under 23 years ... but then again that would disqualify him from being a two-hit wonder.

Here are a couple others to throw in the mix:
d**n Yankees (if we're only talking the Hot 100 -- they had four top 40's on R&R): "High Enough" #3 "Where You Goin' Now" #20
Natural Selection: "Do Anything" #2 (#3 R&R) "Hearts Don't Think (They Feel!)" #28 (#10 R&R)

"High Enough" would get a ton of points for its run for sure. If you use just use the Hot 100 and want to show how ridiculous the Hot 100 was in 1995... giannirubino add The Rembrandts (from a hot 100 perspective) and let me see how the numbers might put them behind Tommy Page and Kevin Paige.

Ok got a new worst two hit wonder candidate....Livingston Taylor. He reached #30 with "I Will Be in Love With You" and #38 with "First Time Love". Oh yeah Livingston in the clubhouse with the lead! As the weakest/worst, I'll go with New Birth: *I Can Understand It, #35 (1973) *Dream Merchant, #36 (1975) A couple more two-hit wonders (mentioned already?)... *Looking Glass ("Brandy" and "Jimmy Loves Mary-Ann") *The Blackbyrds ("Walking In Rhythm" and "Happy Music")

Great thread. Thanks to giannirubino for all the tabulations.
A few two-hit wonders I really like which I don't think have been mentioned are Kim Wilde and Level 42.
