I didn't think about Billy Vera since he hit #36 in 1968 with Judy Clay on "Country Girl City Man" but I guess The Beaters count, eh? Now I guess I have something to do tomorrow. Billy Vera was a 3 hit wonder, not 2 hits.

I heard "No More Words" by Berlin last night and realized they were two hit wonders. "No More Words" #23 in 1984 and "Take My Breath Away" #1 in 1986. "Sex (I'm a...)" got airplay in some areas in 1983, including mine, but its subject matter no doubt kept it from reaching the 40 (#62 peak). Would've been another title (and lyrical content) for the show to warn stations about. Only Berlin 45 I ever bought. The picture sleeve is a hoot! Had never seen it. Just checked it out. Pretty cool. I had a copy of the Pleasure Victim CD for many years. Borrowed it from a friend, Beth, who moved out of town a few years later. Well over a decade after I borrowed the CD, a mutual friend in my area told me he was going to Beth's wedding. I asked him if he wouldn't mind giving her a small wedding 'gift' from me. Wrapped the CD - with the piece of paper listing her name and old phone number she included still inside the case - and put it in a gift bag. My buddy told me Beth got a big kick out of that.

A wild R and R two hit wonder: Ready For The World. Was curious tonight if, "Love You Down" hit the top 10 on R and R (it did). What I wasn't expecting is a song from 1986 that hit #21 on the Hot 100 did not hit the top 40 on R and R: "Digital Display". Has to be one of the highest charting Hot 100 songs from that time, if not the highest (84-88) to not hit R and R

If we factored in "number of different singles released at the time" to estimate the level of competition, I wonder how far Bobby Boris Pickett and the Strawberry Alarm Clock and ? And The Mysterians would rise on this list. I wouldn't be surprised if all three were in the Top Ten or maybe even Top Five.

Rhythm Syndicate..."P.A.S.S.I.O.N." (#2) and "Hello Donna" (#13) Actually, it's titled "Hey Donna". Inner Circle: "Bad Boys" & "Sweat" Actually, Inner Circle had a third song enter AT40 in 1994. It was "Games People Play". So they are not a two-hit wonder.

Hmmm. Wikipedia says Inner Circle's "Games People Play" peaked at #84 in 1994. In 1994, the Hot 100 does not equal AT40, so to speak. Or, rather, AT40 in 1994 did not utlize the Hot 100.
The Spin Doctor's "Jimmy Olsen Blues" peaked at #78 on the Hot 100. "You Let Your Heart Go Too Fast" got close, but stalled at #42, again, per Wikipedia.
I'll figure out and add George Baker Selection tomorrow.
