Does a station have to get special permission to replay it overnight like that, or if it is run in a decent timeslot do the networks not care. WXXL in Orlando airs AT40 Saturdays from 8-noon, and then it is replayed from midnight-4am.
Hmmm....maybe the clearance issue is why WQIK in Cowford would cut ACC off at midnight even when the show was running over. They would play music until about 8:05pm or so, and then start the show.

Thats actually kind of wierd about the networks abd 90 days thing. The reason I say that is CC owns a Top 40 station here in Cowford and the Cox owned other Top 40 station runs AT40. The CC owned station said they DO want to run Seacrest's show, but since the other station has an agreement with them, they can't. Would this be a long term agreement or what? This might be an exception to the rule, I don't know. But it seems weird that a CC station couldn't get their hands on AT40.

My guess is a network wouldn't care if a show went over by 5 or 10 minutes into early Monday morning. My other guess is that the station's computer system is set so the new "log week" starts at 12am Monday, and the computer is simply beginning the new week on schedule, cancelling out any other information from the previous week.

I dont know but the show FADES OUT at midnight. It doesnt just abruptly end so would the log you are referring to fade the show out and just start playing music?

Hmm, fade out definately makes it sound intentional. Does the syndicated "After Midnite" program air on that station? If so, my guess is contract obligations for that over-ride ACC in the station's eyes. If not, there is no reason for that. Either way there is no excuse, as the station should simply either a) not over-book the commercial load (which shouldn't be too heavy on a Sunday night anyway) or b) Start the show at 7:50 or 7:55 if necessary. It's not that hard to do and just takes someone who actually pays attention to the automation and program clocks to figure it out.

the station used to run that show, but quit a few years ago and still kept up the "stop the show at midnight" practice.
As a whole with running shows, WQIK sucks big time as Jeffster can probably attest to if he remembers all the segments that sounded terrible for no reason. It really sucks having this station as your local affiliate. I wish I could do with radio what I did with Directv. Yes, I live in Jacksonville, but I told Directv send the bills to the Jacksonville address, I actually LIVE in Kissimmee still. So, I have Orlando local stations on the dish. I wish I could do the same with radio.

I just got an emal from Angie at Bob's CT40. She informed me that WGAR/Cleveland and WGYI-WGYY-Oil City/Meadville (affiliate from home/affiliate at college) will both be airing Bob's new show on New Years weekend. Obviously she didn't say if it was in place of or in addition to American Country Countdown, but with WGAR's heavy schedule of weekend countdowns already, I doubt they kept ACC on unless they dropped Ben & Brian, Jeff Foxworthy, or the local 'Classic Country Weekend' program. WGYI-WGYY airs ACC twice on Sunday, at 8am and 8pm - so there is a chance they will air Bob in the morning and Kix in the evening or vice versa. But either way, Bob will be on in Cleveland and Meadville/Franklin/Oil City. However, she did not mention the Youngstown station I had asked about when I sent the inquiry email last week, so that leads me to believe Kix will indeed have an affiliate in Youngstown, OH.

Just to touch base on something, I went to wal mart this morning to buy a router for the computer and one last present for Austin. While I was out, I heard and can confirm that American Country Countdown does have a regular weekly countdown this week and Bob is hosting it.

Did anyone catch ACC this weekend? Did Bob end the show any differently?

Didnt hear the end. But I really doubt he did because most affiliates will probably be joining his new show next week. So, if he said he would be counting down the top 50 of the year, that will be true on the majority of the affiliates who carried ACC this week.

As of 12-30-05 acctop40.com remains unchanged, and I just received Bob's weekly ACC newsletter.
