Dear Casey:
Seventeen years ago, one of my favorite personalities was removed as the host of one of my favorite radio programs. The replacement host was quite good and I still enjoyed listening, but unfortunately the show ultimately could not survive.
Now, a similar situation has happened with another show produced by the same company. So would you please play "Oops! I Did It Again" for them? Thanks!
(** Obviously, this is tongue-in-cheek and I don't mean any offense to anyone involved.)

why no offense? ABC radio is run by a gang of idiots, you could technically excuse the decision from 17 years ago because they had no history to really base the decision on, but now they have no excuse. I read on Bob Kingsley's bio that ACC is currently on over 1,000 radio stations internationally which probably means it is on the most stations, and heard I would say by more people other than maybe some talk shows on the radio. When his new show starts I can see that number dropping by 750 or more.
Congratulations ABC Radio Network! You have set in motion the plan to kill the #1 music radio show in the world.....AGAIN!

Not that I think we country music fans have anything to worry about, but for those of you who are and want to hear Bob's show, I would start emailing your local ACC affiliate and requesting the new show. I have already done so.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Bob get picked up by Premiere. It'd be neat to have Kingsley and Kasem back in the same company again!

I wouldnt mind it either, plus all the CC owned stations many of which run American Country Countdown without being forced to, would have to air the new show.

Well now I got the urge to hear Kix play 'Don't Worry Be Happy'. Sadly my part of NC hasn't had an ACC affiliate in a couple of years so I haven't been able to hear ol Bob at all. Perhaps his '06 venture will get picked up by either '96.9 the Kat' or '103.7 WSOC'. In any event, kudos to Mr. Kingsley for an impressive 28 year non-stop run hosting one program, quite the achievement indeed. By the way does anybody know exactly which Country music countdown shows are on the most stations at the moment, if ACC is indeed on top, then who's second and third? Seriously, somebody tell Tim McGraw or Toby Keith to do a quick cover of 'Roll With It'.

Well, I only know of 6 country countdown shows. American Country Countdown is currently (although that is about to change) on over 1,000 stations internationally. Without doing any research I can assure you it is on the most stations far ahead of it's 2 closest seconds. I would assume #2 is CMT's Country Countdown USA and #3 is Foxworthy Countdown, followed by Ben and Brians show, The Weekly Country Music Countdown, and Crook & Chase in whatever order.

This is, without a doubt, the stupidest decision in the history of radio.

www.ct40.comBob Kingsley's Country Top 40 will make its debut New Years Weekend. No mention of the chart source, but I e-mailed Bob via the link. Hopefully the answer will be revealed. It appears that KCCS is handling it. So much for the hopes of Premiere, but Bob should still do well.

dang man, how did you find this so fast? I was on CMT's message boards, and there was a board for "Country Music Radio". On that board was a topic that mentioned CT40 and a corresponding web site. I tried "countrytop40.com" to no avail, then I tried simply "ct40.com" and got Bob's web site. On a side note, it's interesting how Bob's new show has the same initials as the show Casey started in 1989.

Maybe it will grow on me, but for now the name leaves a lot to be desired...but I dont really know what else you could call it either. Kingsley's Country Countdown?

If we remember one thing from 1989, the host is more important than the title.
That being said - have we gone through some bizarre time warp? This is shaping up to be a carbon copy of 1989 with the only difference being Casey had five months without a show whereas Bob will not even lose a week.
