I will be curious to see what airs on WLTW. Are they all Christmas yet? It would be interesting if Casey still tracked a custom Top 10 AC countdown for them until they switch to all-Christmas, should that happen.

This morning while listening to AT10 I heard no mention of all-Christmas starting next weekend....not even in the closing credits. Perhaps when Casey recorded this weekends show on Oct. 26 they still did not know when they were switching?

If memory serves correctly, Casey didn't promo the Christmas shows on his last regular countdown last year either.

Heres a twist for the better, WLTM out of Atlanta which airs AT10 at 2pm CST on Sundays is already all Christmas music also....BUT, yesterday they still ran AT10 as normal.

I give Premiere props though since they at least realize finally that all of their AC stations are forced to flip to all Christmas sometime in November and setting up AT10 to be aired by flipping it to an all Christmas format at some point in November also.
So, as much as most of us dislike the format flip as early as it does (anything before noon on Christmas Eve I dislike in totality) we should at least applaud the folks at the Network of the Northern Hemisphere for at least doing to something to insure the show still runs correctly on the majority of its affiliates.

Making a Christmas version of AT10 makes perfect sense. Starting the availability of that Christmas version when they are makes perfect sense.
Flipping stations to all-Christmas music before the day after Thanksgiving makes NO sense. Not having a regular edition of AT10 in addition to the Christmas one for any weekend other than Christmas weekend also makes no sense.

I'm still floored that AT10 runs locally in Atlanta at 2pm. I didn't know Casey's voice was allowed on radio during a higher rated daypart.

Earlier today, while I was at work, my boss decided to listen to WNIC, and listen to all of the non-stop Christmas music. It is already bad enough that WNIC is playing Christmas music in early November, now my boss has to have WNIC on all day long. By the way Brett, which radio station in Atlanta carries AT10?

It would be interesting if Casey still tracked a custom Top 10 AC countdown for them until they switch to all-Christmas, should that happen. According to yesterday's NY Daily News, WLTW will go all-Christmas beginning on November 25, the day after Thanksgiving. Now the question remains regarding AT10...an an additional question...what will air this weekend and next in AT10's timeslot on WLTW? An edited version of the Christmas show? A custom version of AT10 with the week's regular top 10? Dunno. Will see if I can find out. Stay tuned.

Just an update -- Cincinnati Hot AC Mix 94.1 WVMX has flipped. I assume this is the end of AT20 and Backtrax USA until January '06 for Cincinnati.

Oh, great - WVMX switched to all-Christmas last year. PLEASE tell me Hot AC isn't gonna let this expand as well! Last year, I remember WVMX airing the AT10 Christmas specials. Perhaps they'll do that again.

I don't think it is a regular thing for Hot AC stations, save for a few who may do it every year (such as 'VMX). One of my Hot AC's, Mix 106.5 WMVX in Cleveland did it in 2001, and never touched it again. Plus, if you look at Mix 94.1's regular playlist, you will note it is a very 'light' sounding Hot AC. It usually seems like AT20, in terms of the music is the "hottest" the station sounds all week, whereas on many stations AT20 is the "softest" part of the week. Heck, if you showed me a playlist from WVMX, I don't know if I could decide if it was Hot or Soft AC.
At least they run the Christmas shows, despite being an AT20 affiliate.

HAC stations do not normally make the flip, though WPLJ here in NYC did do just that last year. They have not announced whether or not they will do it again this year.
Meantime, here's the WLTW scoop...they will be airing edited versions of Casey's AT10 Christmas shows, effective this weekend (even though WLTW hasn't gone all-Christmas yet).
There's your answer...thanks for writing in. Now, on with the countdown...
