Definitely agree, very noticeable. Well, any show from 6/16/1990 onward should be in CD quality. Although some recent vinyl shows sounded really good, like 4/30/1988 and 5/9/1987. One of the worst was 3/24/1990; it skipped several times and obviously not remastered. Last week's 5/17/1986 show was a straight vinyl transfer. Hopefully something gets worked out in the future for ACC re-airings, otherwise for now we'll just have to enjoy the two stations that air ACC and CT40. Better than nothing at all! ETA: Thanks for posting the cue sheet.

Looks like WSM-AM has a limited number of CT40 shows they have in the can and as a result they are not putting fresh new shows at least for now, past 7/1/2006. It's possible that maybe they are jumping ahead too much when it comes to the airdate vs. chart date (which they have), or perhaps maybe it could be an error showing 2/25/2006 again for this week.
I think in theory KFYZ could go up to 1993 if they may consider early 90s as part of the 80s range. After all on ACC they did play some 80s songs when it came to the ACC Archive feature, either in chronological or alphabetical order, or played as extras.
ETA: Okay it looks like it applied to just the first hour as they've fixed the situation in Hour 2 (probably was a broken hour, they're back to new shows after all showing 7/8/2006). Seems like they're still having issues when it comes to showing CT40 content in full by loading the wrong show/segment.

The KFYZ website says their airings on Wednesday evenings will be from the 70s, 80s and 90s. However, since catching the shows in early March, all but two have been from the 80s, and the aforementioned two from the 90s. If they do go back to the 70s, guessing it will be only Bob Kingsley shows, which start on 5/6/1978. (Again, just speculation on my part, since I haven't heard any 70s airings on there yet.)

I vividly remember board-oping this show direct from CD when something happened with the automation. I would arrive at 6am Sunday and board op four stations at once - airing church services on the AM stations and syndicated shows on the FMs. The Country station aired a classic country show from 6-8am and then Bob Kingsley from 8-Noon. The classic rock station had Flashback will Bill St James from 8-Noon, and the Hot AC had AT20 from 9am-Noon. Then at Noon I'd go on the air live until 6pm. Then the evening board op would come and the same shows would run again from 8-Midnight/9-Midnight.
Fun, fun memories.

Very early Bob Kingsley era on KFYZ this week, from 6/10/1978. Opening and closing themes (as well as the hour themes to start) are still the original as it was since the show began (gotta love the fiddle in theme right there). www.charismusicgroup.com/ACC%20Cue%20Sheets/06-10-78.pdf

This was only the 6th show into Bob's tenure as the full-time host. The jingles would change on the 7/22/1978 show, but the fiddle theme would stay as the closing theme for hours 1 and 2 through sometime in 1982 (the 1981 year-end still had them).

KFYZ is airing 6/20/1981 right meow, which features the jingles first heard on the 7/22/1978 show. The original fiddle theme can still be heard to close out Hours 1 and 2.

KFYZ is airing 6/22/1985. ETA: Thankfully, 1985 came back around quickly, as I had missed the 6/1/1985 earlier this month due to working. Sounds like it was remastered, also.

Meanwhile there hasn't been a 4 hour show since May, so maybe next week I think a 4 hour show is due. On the other hand, next weekend is the 4th of July holiday weekend, so there may be a special show forthcoming just like they did with the Memorial Day special they featured.
