I hope to get my booster shot sometime after the holidays. I got mine the week before Christmas. I was fortunate enough to have extremely minimal side effects, just as with my second dose.

As is the case in many states, the case count in California is rising with the Omicron variant. Gov. Newsom, in his weekly press conference, advised us all to take the same precautions that we took at the onset.
I'm staying inside as much as possible, venturing out only when it's time to go to work. I mask up at the dispatch office now. Having groceries delivered is a very appealing option.
Take care and stay safe, everyone.

I report that I finally came down with Covid (since I work in retail, I wasn't surprised) right around Christmas Eve. Many people in the Atlanta area are not bothering to wear masks , although I still do, and with the crowds during the days leading up to Christmas I was constantly bumping into folks--one of which must've shared the omicron variant.
Thankfully, it was the equal to having a mild cold (at least in my case), with only a slight fever, cough and a runny nose my only symptoms. It lasted for only about 4-5 days but I must test negative before I can return to work (employer requirement). Getting a test is going to be the most difficult part of returning to work, as most testing sites are inundated with people trying to get tested for coronavirus.
It took me 90 minutes in an outdoor line to get my confirmation test--which was OK last week as the temps were in the 60's--but this week temps are in the 40's and I am not looking forward to waiting in those same lines so am trying to find a place indoors to get a test.
Hopefully, this latest variant being somewhat milder, will be the beginning of the end of this pandemic.
In the meantime, stay safe and avoid crowds--if you can.
