Fully vaccinated with Moderna as of March 19, so about a month now. I used to avoid crowds anyway, so not much has changed for me. Hopefully a year from now we are laughing about this.

I got my second shot on Saturday and the only side effect besides the sore arm was that I was more tired than usual and, the day afterward, I had a slight headache. Other than that...

Got my 2nd shot this past Monday. Only had a sore arm on Tuesday. No other side effects. Was as easy as getting a flu shot.

I had minimal side effects after my second Moderna shot as well. Meanwhile, my brother had his second Moderna shot last week and was really lethargic for 48 hours (no fever).
Michigan was recently slammed with virus cases. At present, we have 330 cases per 100,000 people with only Minnesota and Colorado having just over 200+ cases per 100,000 people. Our governor recently announced the "Vacc to Normal" plan where certain restrictions are lessened or removed when we reach a certain percentage of residents being vaccinated. When we hit 70% of residents vaccinated... two weeks later, we will not have to wear masks in public unless a store mandates it. We presently have about 45% of residents with their first vaccination.
When this started last March, I first thought we'd work from home for a few weeks and be back to normal in a couple of months. Almost 14 months later... we're still masked with many employees still working from home (I have been in the office since July 1). But I continue to wear my mask except at home. and I hope people don't try to do too much too soon.

May the 4th be with me when I go to get my second Moderna. ...sorry, I had to. But yes, that is my second appointment date. Mine is the 5th, same vaccine too.

Got my first dose of Pfizer today, so far not much side effects aside from a slight discomfort in my arm. But I'd take that over COVID any day!

Who knew this thread would still be active after a year and five months -- and counting?
The Delta variant is running rampant in California. Some restaurants up in the Bay Area are shutting down again because of it. It's not hard to imagine the same thing happening down here in the southern part of the state. The big retail chains already are reinstating their mask mandates, and it looks as though the smaller businesses will follow. In Riverside County, where I live, the courthouse starts requiring double masks as of tomorrow (Monday). I barely dodged that bullet by being summoned for jury duty last week!
So far, the surge certainly isn't stopping folks from heading out on weekend excursions. On my Sunday pharmacy route from Riverside to L.A. today, the traffic was the worst I've experienced since I first took the run. As an essential worker, I've never stopped masking up, so there's no readjustment to be made. Going from delivery stop to delivery stop, it's more convenient to leave the mask on. This, as I discovered a long time ago, will always rile up those in the "give me liberty or give me COVID" crowd.
I choose those last words carefully after reading an article about doctors saying that anger and insults would only cause these people to dig in their heels further when it comes to not getting "the Fauci ouchie." Am I angry with them myself? No, just disappointed and a bit confused. The seatbelt analogy comes to mind, but then again, what state or local government is going to make anti-vax illegal? It's not as though the cops could hand out tickets.
We all know about the breakthrough cases -- those who are fully vaccinated yet catch the virus. Reba McEntire is the latest example in the entertainment world. And apparently there are other variants, and more coming. For what it's worth, I have only one family member who has caught it, and only one who is anti-vax. The rest of us are keeping an eye on it.

I work in retail settings here in the Atlanta area, and both chains I work at Publix and Whole Foods, have gone back to mandating that those working in the stores have to wear masks--a real pain after working for a couple of months without it. Unfortunately, Georgia has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country.
Sadly, I think this pandemic is going to continue to affect our lives for quite awhile longer, as people continue to decide whether they want to vaccinate or not.

Twenty months after the national emergency was first declared, it feels as though the virus is just as worrisome as ever.
They keep finding new variants, and people are raising heck as always about getting the Fauci ouchie. This Green Bay Packer fan is disappointed with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his "I've been immunized" mess.
Despite the term "essential worker" being a less cool thing to say, I'm still wearing a mask for all of my pharmacy delivery work and to go into public places.
California has been one of the stricter states about masking from the get-go. I'm all for it. I may disagree with former governor Schwarzenegger politically, but his "screw your freedom" video is a must-watch.

I've been back to work this week after sitting out 10 days due to a positive covid test. Loss of taste and smell was the main culprit otherwise very mild symptoms. I guess this was the worst Halloween for me since the Blizzard of 91. I'm taking one asprin a day to reduce risk of blood clots (family history). All things considered, I was lucky. I won a covid battle, but the covid war continues for God knows how long.

During the last pandemic, incorrectly referred to as the Spanish flu, from 100 years ago--it lasted about 3 years. At this point, we are a little over a year and a half into the coronavirus outbreak. Of course, one advantage we have is that there are vaccines available but a slow response for people to get their shots. As flu numbers generally increase during the winter months I suspect Covid-19 will do the same. Perhaps an increase in cases will cause those that haven't been vaccinated to do so but we will have to wait and see.
Please everyone stay safe during this time of the year--a time for many gatherings of family and friends.

California's indoor mask mandate went back into effect yesterday (12/15), on just two days' notice. There had been such a dramatic spike in new cases that our governor made the usual timely decision.
The response will be worth watching closely this time. Most of us by this point have gotten at least the first two shots. (I got boosted before Thanksgiving.) And many folks are already hot and bothered about bringing out the facial coverings once again.
The extreme course of action is to go back on lockdown. Only a huge lapse of conscience on the part of all those holiday partygoers would bring it about.
A regular delivery customer of mine believes it will happen within the next three to four weeks. I can already hear the renewed cries for a recall!

I work as an usher at the Atlanta Symphony in the evenings and on week ends and there is always someone who is upset that they have to be vaccinated and masked to attend an event. In my regular retail jobs I see less and less people wearing masks and the Atlanta airport is seeing travel almost back up to pre-pandemic numbers. Perhaps people think acting like this is over will make it so--unfortunately, my late father said you can have a wish in one and and a pile of crap in the other but the other thing who can really detect is a terrible smell.
I pray that everyone enjoys this Christmas/Holiday season.
